Today is the anniversary of the tragic death in 1782 of American Revolutionary officer John Laurens, killed while fighting off a British ambush. He was a Patriot, abolitionist, and almost recklessly heroic soldier who earned the admiration and praise of such great men as George Washington and Alexander Hamilton.
As we face our own culture war and violent threats from leftists, we can draw courage and inspiration from Laurens’s example.
