National Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer said at the Trump Cabinet meeting yesterday, “Thank you to what you’re doing with your agents at ICE. And thank you for your prosecution,” she added, turning to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. ‘I hope you’ll come to Portland, Oregon and crackdown’.”
Portland could use a partnership with the President on a crime crackdown. For instance:
• Consider this headline just this week showing that Portland police have lost control of their own city streets, “Weekend street takeovers stretch across Portland, overwhelm police: ‘It was troubling’”
• Federal agents have been hospitalized during the recent Portland protests.
• Oregon was part of the nation’s largest fentanyl drug bust this summer.
• Multnomah’s Central library is begging for more police help
