The woke mob has a new target in its sights, and this time, it’s the Doggfather himself. Snoop Dogg landed in hot water recently after a podcast appearance where he admitted he was “scared to go to the movies” with his grandson because of LGBTQ content in kids’ films like Disney’s Lightyear.
His grandson’s innocent question about “two women having a baby” turned a simple trip to the movies into a teachable moment Snoop wasn’t looking for. “I didn’t come in for this shit, I just came to watch the goddamn movie,” he said, voicing a frustration shared by plenty of parents who just want some old-fashioned popcorn and plot twists, not social engineering at the multiplex. He added, “So it’s like it’s f*ck me. I’m scared to go to the movies…”
Predictably, the cancel crowd went full volume, attacking Snoop. Breitbart News reported that critics are calling for him to be dropped from performing at Australia’s AFL Grand Final. Oddly enough, he was still invited to perform regardless of the swearing, anti-police lyrics, and the anti-woman lyrics in his music. But complaining about LGBTQ+ being forced on kids is a bridge too far.
Trans entertainer Ts Madison chimed in, branding his comments “homophobic” and accusing him of rejecting necessary education for kids. The story, of course, has gone global faster than a viral hook, proving once again that no rapper, however legendary, is safe from the social media tribunal.
Snoop isn’t exactly a stranger to controversy, but this flare-up highlights cancel culture’s double standard: a man with decades of music industry street cred, known for crossing genres and building bridges, is suddenly cast as public enemy number one for speaking honestly about a kids’ movie. The culture warriors aren’t satisfied with open dialogue; they want a full mute button on anyone daring to question their agenda – even when it comes to cartoons.
For a guy whose career has outlived multiple eras of pop culture, it’s hard to see this attack on him sticking. But in today’s climate, even a legend can find himself fighting for mic time in the court of insane Leftist public opinion.
