Semi trucks carrying thousands of pounds of food are driving up to community centers and church parking lots in western Michigan, where lines of people are developing as they wait for a few boxes of free foodstuffs.
According to Ken Estelle, president of Feeding America West Michigan, one truck can supply enough food for up to 600 households, but on some days, even that is insufficient to fulfill the demand, which has increased by 18% in the last 12 months.
“In the forty-three years that we have been helping this community, we have never witnessed this degree of need. It has pushed us to the limit and is far higher than it was during COVID,” Estelle remarked. “This drumbeat has been growing every month, with more and more people joining in.”
People who have never set foot in a food pantry before are showing up, “The price of food isn’t the only basic need that has gone up; all of their bills, including electricity, rent, and insurance, have gone up as well.”

The nationwide epidemic of hunger is worsening by the day.

According to Jonah Frey, a former investment banker at Wells Fargo in San Francisco, “nobody blinked an eye” when a coworker would snort lines of crushed Adderall tablets at his desk.
According to Mr. Frey’s interview with the Wall Street Journal, he started using the medication in 2020 after hearing from coworkers that it would help him stay awake during the long hours. He would often stay up until 2 in the morning on conversations with the East Coast office.
Some of the Wall Street employees don’t get much sleep since they’re so busy creating money.
Meanwhile, people’s financial woes are sweeping the country like wildfire.
What will our nation be like when the Wall Street party comes to a close if we are already experiencing this severe economic hardship while the celebration is ongoing? Evil…
