The Fairfax County School Board has a meeting scheduled for this Thursday, August 28th. It is extremely important for County residents to make their voices heard regarding the unfolding story about school staff assisting minors to get abortions without parental or guardian knowledge.
Fairfax residents, please send messages to the members of the Fairfax School Board calling for transparency, and complete cooperation with the investigation being conducted at this time. Fairfax parents have a right to know whether students are being manipulated into secret abortions at school. Taxpayers have a right to know exactly what happened and where the money came from.
It is critical that we call on all our friends and families in Fairfax County to send a message now. If you have friends or family in Fairfax County please share this message. If you have children in Fairfax County Schools, it is especially helpful. Please make sure your message acknowledges that. Thank you!

I am deeply troubled by the story that has emerged from Centreville High School. Even the possibility that FCPS staff may be directing minor age girls about how to get an abortion and paying for them without involving the child’s parents is absolutely unacceptable in my eyes. The parents of Fairfax County deserve to know how this may have happened and want assurances that it will not happen again anywhere in the FCPS system.
No matter what a person’s person opinion may be about abortion access for adults, it is imperative that parents be able to trust that the teachers and staff at our schools will not sidestep the rights of parents to support and guide our children at critical moments in their lives.
I am pleased that there is a full investigation underway involving the state police and I await the outcome. We, the taxpayers, must know what is happening with our daughters and sons after the school bell rings each day. Please rest assured that I am paying close attention to this story and expect full transparency from FCPS.
We also ask you to contact your State Delegate and State Senator about this issue. Even if you don’t live in Fairfax County, you can make an important impression on our state legislators. Please use the VSHL Action Center today.
