Husband Arrested After Mom of Two is Found Dead in Bedroom Horror

The family of a Brisbane woman allegedly stabbed to death by her husband is speaking out, remembering her as a “remarkable” person whose kindness touched everyone she met.

Carra Samantha Luke, 48, was found dead in her home on Saturday, Aug. 23, after allegedly being stabbed multiple times in a bedroom, according to The Courier-Mail. Her husband, Shane Scheikowski, 52, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of entering a dwelling with intent. Queensland Police said emergency services were called to the residence around 12:30 a.m. and found Luke unresponsive with critical injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Scheikowski, described by police as “known to the woman,” is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, Aug. 25.

In a heartfelt statement, Luke’s family described her as “a remarkable woman who touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity, and unwavering kindness.” They remembered her as “a devoted mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunty, and friend” who “gave love so freely that everyone who knew her felt like part of her family.” Her loved ones said Luke “carried the power to comfort, encourage, and uplift others, leaving behind memories that will be cherished forever.”

They added that Luke’s dedication to her work as a nurse at Nundah Doctors Surgery, where she had been employed for 20 years, was “a true reflection of who she was.” In a statement on its website, the clinic called her “the heart and soul of the practice” and praised her for helping patients “through the most difficult times with the greatest professionalism and dedication.” They added, “She is irreplaceable, and we will miss her every day.”
