President Trump fired off a late-night salvo at NBC and ABC News on Sunday, railing against what he called their “biased” coverage and floating the idea that the FCC should strip them of their broadcast licenses.
He argued the networks gave him negative coverage in “97%” of stories — though he offered no source for the figure. A Media Research Center study earlier this year pegged the negativity at 92% during his first 100 days in office.

“IF THAT IS THE CASE, THEY ARE SIMPLY AN ARM OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY AND SHOULD, ACCORDING TO MANY, HAVE THEIR LICENSES REVOKED,” Trump thundered in all caps, adding that he would be “totally in favor” of such a move, calling the outlets “so biased and untruthful, an actual threat to our Democracy.”

He doubled down in another post, branding the networks “FAKE NEWS” and “two of the absolute worst and most biased networks anywhere in the world.” Trump also fumed that they don’t “pay Millions of Dollars a year in LICENSE FEES,” insisting: “They should lose their Licenses for their unfair coverage of Republicans and/or Conservatives, but at a minimum, they should pay up BIG for the privilege of using the most valuable airwaves anywhere at anytime!!! Crooked ‘journalism’ should not be rewarded, it should be terminated!!!”
