During an interview with Kristen Welker on this week’s Meet the Press, Vice President J.D. Vance discussed the redistricting battle involving Texas and California which the president intends to spread to other states.
And once again, the vice president smashed Welker’s served-up gotcha issue out of the park, crushing the Left’s hypocritical posturing about being the victims in the battle.

“All we’re doing, frankly, is trying to make the situation a little bit more fair,” says @VP on redistricting.
“Democrats have gerrymandered their states really aggressively. We think there are opportunities to push back against that, and that’s really all we’re doing.” pic.twitter.com/q06A8CkniT

Vance noted how the Left had aggressively gerrymandered their states over the past 10 to 20 years.
He used Massachusetts as an example, and explained, despite 32 percent of the people having voted Republican in the state, there was zero federal representation for them. Vance said all the Republicans were trying to do was make things more fair and push back against the Leftists.
Vance explained that Republicans had fewer seats because of Leftist gerrymandering. He also made the point that still many on the Left do not seem to understand: Illegal aliens are wrongfully counted in the census when it comes to apportionment for representation.

“We’re literally losing representatives for American citizens in order to give congressional representation to illegal aliens,” says @VP.

Vance said according to estimates he had seen, California had 5 additional Congressional seats which they would not have had, but for the state’s counting of illegal aliens. His point? Balancing that out is more democratic and more accurate to represent American citizens, without being skewed by illegal aliens.
Welker then claimed that “undocumented people” were not able to vote.

.@VP on illegal aliens in the Census: “They do go in the congressional apportionment. That’s why California has so many more seats is because they count illegal aliens… They end up getting congressional representation that ought, by right, go to American citizens.” pic.twitter.com/Lfu3kYaM6N

Well, that misses the point. Does she not know, or is she trying to cloud the issue? The vice president had to explain that, whether they vote or not, “they do count for apportionment, and that is not fair to American citizens.”
Of course, the Left is melting down over redistricting. Because, among other reasons, they believe this will tip the scales in the midterms.
But there are additional factors affecting the Left’s voting block, including the massive shifts in party registration and the difference in how much money each party has. But that is an entirely different issue.
So, in actuality, the Left is correct. They will lose hugely in the midterms. But this is the Trump-Vance team goal, of course.
God speed to the Trump-Vance team.
