resident Donald Trump welcomed FIFA President Gianni Infantino to the White House for a major update on the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The tournament will bring 48 national teams and 104 matches to North America, with the official draw set for December 5 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
In his remarks, Trump praised the National Guard’s work in Washington, D.C., claimed crime numbers are at historic lows, and vowed to expand similar efforts to Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and other cities. He also touched on border security, crime reduction, and global conflicts including Ukraine and Africa. The FIFA World Cup trophy was also presented inside the Oval Office.
