Parents across America are getting more worried every day. They see political activism creeping into classrooms. They worry about what books are in the library. They wonder if teachers respect their values at all. But what if it’s worse than that? What if some of the people running our schools hate conservatives so much they actually celebrate when they think we’ve died?
This isn’t some made-up story. I wish it was. It’s exactly what happened in Alachua County, Florida. A school board chair’s mask slipped off completely. And what we saw underneath should terrify every conservative parent in America.
Sarah Rockwell chairs the Alachua County School Board. She bragged about her position on the Democratic Public Education Caucus of Florida when she ran for office. This past July, she heard that wrestling legend Hulk Hogan had died from a heart attack. Her response? “Oh did Hulk die? I didn’t even know. Good. One less MAGA in the world.”
But she wasn’t done. She added that Hogan “worked with the McMahons to union-bust professional wrestling. He’s never been a good guy. I feel absolutely nothing about his death.” Well, the backlash was fierce. She deleted the post and made lip service by “apologizing” online. Seems like she shouldn’t have said that in the first place. When people demanded she resign, her true colors came out.
From Breitbart:
Sarah Rockwell, the Florida county school board chair who celebrated Hulk Hogan’s death, has refused to resign, calling her comments “protected speech that were not made” as a public servant…
Weeks later, Rockwell has refused to resign and even said that people should not judge her comments as being a part of her position as a public servant.
“I’ve already made two public apologies for my comment and I’m not going to speak to that again because that is my personally protected speech that was not made in my public capacity. All of the parents who came to speak were given the opportunity to speak,” she said in a recent meeting.
Educational Double Standards
A school board chair celebrates death on Facebook? That’s “personal” and “protected.” But let a conservative parent question what’s being taught at a board meeting? Suddenly they’re the problem. They’re “disruptive.” Some Democrats even called parents like that “domestic terrorists.”
Think about this for a second. What would happen if a conservative school board member celebrated a Democrat’s death? The media would lose their minds. CNN would run coverage for weeks. They’d demand investigations. Resignation wouldn’t be enough—they’d want criminal charges for “hate speech.”
But Rockwell? She’s still there. Still making decisions about your kids’ education. Still getting paid with your tax dollars. All while hating half the parents in her district.
The Deeper Problem
This isn’t just one crazy person. It’s a pattern. Educational leaders don’t see conservative parents as partners anymore. They see us as enemies. When someone running our schools can casually celebrate death over politics, what does that tell you? How does she really view the Trump-supporting parents in her district? The ones paying her salary?
These people control everything. Curriculum. Discipline policies. School culture. They’re creating environments where conservative kids feel unwelcome. Where traditional families are treated like problems. Rockwell just said the quiet part out loud.
And it goes beyond politics. When school leaders abandon basic human decency—when they literally celebrate death—what are they teaching our kids? How can we expect children to respect each other when their leaders act like this?
