President Donald Trump said he would fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook if she doesn’t resign.
“I’ll fire her if she doesn’t resign,” Trump said. “What she did was bad. So I’ll fire her if she doesn’t resign.”
Trump’s comment came days after FHFA Director William Pulte alleged that Cook committed mortgage fraud.
In a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Pulte alleged that Cook “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, potentially committing mortgage fraud.”
