Florida Dems are furious after Gov. DeSantis ordered rainbow virtual signals to be scraped off the Sunshine State’s streets.
Last month, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy sent a letter to every state governor demanding they remove gratuitous distractions from roadways.
“Roads are for safety, not political messages or artwork,” Duffy said in a statement to The Daily Signal. “Today, I am calling on governors in every state to ensure that roadways, intersections, and crosswalks are kept free of distractions.”
“Far too many Americans die each year due to traffic fatalities to take our eye off the ball,” he added.
DeSantis answered his call, and needless to say, Dems aren’t taking it well.
“In the middle of the night, ripped the rainbow colors off of this city sidewalk. They illegally vandalized city property,” State Senator Carlos Smith fumed.

DeSantis was at the ready with a simple response.
“We will not allow our state roads to be commandeered for political purposes,” the Florida governor replied to the video.
Florida state Rep. Anna Eskamani accused DeSantis of “erasing an entire community.”

“They’re the ones who decided it was appropriate to erase an entire community… we’re not going to let it stand.”

LGBTQ activists were reportedly out in force to repaint some of the crosswalks on Friday morning.

Try as they might, it seems this is a battle the left will likely lose in solid red Florida, especially since it appears the protest was half-hearted with the use of chalk.

I detest these maniacs. They are all social misfits with the brains of peas. Yes, I said it.

It’s not these people have real jobs or anything.

It’s chalk. First rain comes, goodbye. Maybe a rainbow will appear in the sky.

As for the Dem legislators? They didn’t receive much sympathy from X users either:
A “Hostile act” is removing a rainbow colored cross walk? Good grief, how do these people function in society. The standard is a reflective white for optimal safety, not rainbow colors that can camouflage pedestrians and/or confuse drivers. Good work Ron!

Thank you, Governor!
I live in this Orlando district and, trust me, most residents are cheering for you.
Never mind the hateful, juvenile, tantrums of the hyper-ideological leftists that, unfortunately, represent us in Tallahassee.@FLVoiceNews

So lemme get this straight—painting over a rainbow crosswalk is now “erasing an entire community”? Y’all turned asphalt into an identity crisis. Roads are for driving, not virtue signaling. Maybe instead of crying to cameras, you could actually fix the real problems in your…

Florida wipes that rainbow crosswalk and the road finally belongs to drivers not activists.
Eskamani crying over paint shows how empty Democrat priorities are in real life.
