An older white liberal woman was so reassured by her moral self-righteousness that she couldn’t see that her racism was shining through.
The woman was protesting Winsome Sears, the Republican nominee for governor of Virginia, for her stance against boys using the girls’ bathroom. She held a sign that caught plenty of attention, including from fellow protesters.
“Hey Winsome, If Trans Can’t Share Your Bathroom, Then Blacks Can’t Share My Water Fountain,” the sign read.
Virginia Republican nominee for Governor @WinsomeSears is speaking out tonight at the Arlington County School Board meeting about boys being able to use the girl’s bathroom.
This is a sign being held by a white liberal outside the meeting (Sears is a black woman).… pic.twitter.com/1ik4JBMbcY

The woman was identified online as an activist with the far-left group We of Action (WOFA), and her message was so egregious that a fellow protester whispered into her ear that she was “getting a lot of play on TV right now. Negative.”

Not surprisingly, the woman tried to dismiss her abject racism as “satire.”
The Arlington, VA woman holding THIS protest sign tonight didn’t want to be identified but says “It was satire meant to provoke conversation around the absurdity of prejudice. Sears would respond later to the woman, posting on X that this is the “tolerant” left that her opponent supports.
“I’m disgusted, but not surprised. This is the ‘tolerant’ left Abigail Spanberger defends,” the GOP nominee wrote. “I’m the sitting Lieutenant Governor, second in command in the former Capitol of the confederate states. I’m an immigrant, a Marine, and above all, a human being. There is no place for this disgusting hatred in our Commonwealth. Anyone who doesn’t condemn this sign is complicit in approving it.”

Social media users, left and right, seemed to agree — here’s a quick sampling of responses, as seen on X:
A liberal white woman saying this to a black conservative woman is INSANE
They’re really so deranged they can’t see the difference in the comparison they’re making ? pic.twitter.com/lMUI2BqwET

WTF is this?
We’ve been told that this was at a @SpanbergerForVA rally protesting @WinsomeSears ? We understand things get nasty during elections, but WTF is this actually? WE NEED ANSWERS #BLM757 pic.twitter.com/lOLfbYjS6Q— Blacklivesmatter757 (@BLM757) August 21, 2025
Notice that they don’t tell her how racist it is, or how wrong it is, just that it’s getting too much negative attention & making then look bad.

Yes, Dems always fall back on the “it was just a joke” excuse whenever they let the mask slip. But, she’s right–it did provoke a conversation about racism–her racism.

Blissfully unaware that she is wrong on so many levels.
