In these times of global uncertainty, when powerful nations jostle for control and influence, we the American people must remember what truly matters: peace through strength, freedom through self-governance, and sovereignty through national pride. The latest headlines out of Europe and Asia make it clear—America must stand firm in its principles, and our leadership must not bend to globalist games.
This week, as NATO leaders gathered with Ukrainian officials to discuss security guarantees, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made it clear that the Kremlin wants China at the table in any Ukraine peace deal. That should raise every red-blooded American’s eyebrows. Russia, already deep into a war it started, is now asking that another authoritarian regime—China—help decide the fate of a sovereign European nation. And why? Because they want “equal” participation from the United Nations Security Council members, including themselves and China, to shape Ukraine’s future.
Let’s be clear: this is not a call for peace—it’s a call for control.
Lavrov is pushing an old draft agreement from 2022 that Ukraine rightly rejected. That deal would have handed Moscow far too much power over Ukraine’s security, giving Russia a say in whether other nations could offer military aid to Ukraine. That’s like asking a bully to decide if the victim can call the police. It’s nonsense—and Ukraine knew it.
Now Russia wants to reboot that plan with China in the mix. But China isn’t a neutral voice. It has stood quietly beside Russia during this entire war. It refused to condemn the invasion of Ukraine and has offered Russia support in ways that have raised alarms around the world. Beijing’s so-called “peace plan” is nothing more than window dressing for its ambition to reshape the global order, one where liberty and individual rights take a back seat to authoritarian control.
Thankfully, President Donald Trump and his team are not falling for it. Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and White House envoy Steve Witkoff are standing tall for American interests and for real peace with honor. Despite Lavrov’s rantings about “unethical attempts” to influence the Trump administration, the truth is simple: the Trump team is leading with American strength and refusing to be cowed by threats or manipulation.
And this is why leadership matters.
Under President Trump, we see a foreign policy grounded in strength, not apology. It’s not about appeasing global elites or pretending rogue states have equal moral standing with free nations. It’s about defending our allies, protecting our homeland, and making sure that America’s voice is not drowned out by bureaucrats in Brussels or communists in Beijing.
Let’s not forget: peace doesn’t come from weakness. It comes from resolve. It comes when the world knows that America won’t be pushed around. That’s why Monday’s meetings in Washington, D.C. were so important. While Lavrov grumbled and tried to sow confusion, the United States and its allies stood united behind Ukraine—and behind the principle that no nation should be forced to hand over its sovereignty to aggressors.
Some might say this isn’t our fight. But make no mistake—when tyrants rewrite the rules in one part of the world, they will try to do it everywhere. If Russia and China can dictate Ukraine’s future, what’s to stop them from trying to dictate our own? We’ve seen what happens when America retreats. The world becomes more dangerous, not less.
So let us stand with President Trump as he pushes for a peace built on justice, not submission. Let us support efforts that keep America strong and our allies secure. And let us never forget that our Constitution, our liberty, and our place in the world are worth defending—today, tomorrow, and always.
