Adam Schiff creates legal defense fund following allegations of mortgage fraud

The New York Post reported earlier this month that California Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff has come under investigation for mortgage fraud.

The famously anti-Trump senator has responded by begging supporters for donations to cover his legal expenses. 

Spokeswoman says investigation is politically motivated

According to Fox News, the “Senator Schiff Legal Defense Fund” was registered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) late last week.

“It’s clear that Donald Trump and his MAGA allies will continue weaponizing the justice process to attack Senator Schiff for holding this corrupt administration accountable,” a spokeswoman for Schiff was quoted as saying in a statement.

She went on to add that the “fund will ensure he can fight back against these baseless smears while continuing to do his job.”

The Post noted how a prosecution referral letter was sent by Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director William Pulte to Attorney General Pam Bondi.

“Mr. Schiff appears to have falsified records in order to receive favorable loan terms, and also appears to have been aware of the financial benefits of a primary residence mortgage when compared to a secondary residence mortgage as a spokesperson in 2023 told the media outlet CNN that, ‘Adam’s California and Maryland addresses have been listed as primary residences for loan purposes because they are both occupied throughout the year and to distinguish them from a vacation property,'” the it read.

Democratic whistleblower claims Schiff leaked classified material

Mortgage fraud allegations aren’t the only thing Schiff has to worry about, as a Democratic whistleblower claims that he leaked classified information in order to damage Trump.

Just the News has reported that it obtained FBI 302 reports from an interview with an intelligence officer who spent over a decade working on the House Intelligence Committee.

“When working in this capacity, [redacted staffer’s name] was called to an all-staff meeting by SCHIFF,” the interview report stated.

“In this meeting, SCHIFF stated the group would leak classified information which was derogatory to President of the United States DONALD J. TRUMP. SCHIFF stated the information would be used to indict President TRUMP,” the document added.

Trump blames Schiff and other Democrats for sabotaging foreign policy

Fox News noted how for his part, President Donald Trump called out Schiff and other high-profile Democrats while speaking at the Kennedy Center last Wednesday.

“Russia, Russia, Russia. Totally phony, created by Adam Schiff, Shifty Schiff, and Hillary Clinton and the whole group of them,” Trump declared.

“It made it very dangerous for our country because I was unable to really deal with Russia the way we should have been,” he complained.

He then referenced Attorney General Pam Bondi, saying, “And I’m looking at Pam because I hope something’s going to be done about it.”
