MSNBC is hoping that by trans-ing itself into a different entity that you’ll forget it ever was the journalistic equivalent of graffiti on a dive bar bathroom stall. The deets:
MSNBC will soon come to be known as My Source for News Opinion and the World, or MS NOW, following the spin off of the bulk of NBCUniversal’s cable assets into a new publicly traded company called Versant.
The new name is now “My Source for News Opinion,” which is — oh wait, it keeps going — “and the World.” What in the Meghan Markle hell is this? My Source for News Opinion and the World? It’s a JoJo stand name.
Ms. Now is the only way I’m ever going to refer to it.
Of course, others have different ideas.
Changing their name while keeping their same stale, stable of brain rot is just proverbial lipstick on the pig, but considering they’re not pulling the same ad revenue or ratings that they used to draw, it’s cheaper.
