As we look across the world today, it becomes clearer than ever that the lines between freedom and tyranny are being drawn once again. In places like Far-East Russia, we see a dangerous partnership growing—one that should concern every American who loves liberty and values our nation’s independence. According to recent reports from a business forum in Kazan, over 90 percent of the foreign investment in Russia’s Far East now comes from one place: Communist China.
This is not a small matter. China is not just doing business with Russia. China is propping up a dictatorship that has waged war in Ukraine and turned its back on the Western world. The so-called “no limits” partnership between China and Russia shows us exactly what kind of world these regimes want to build—one where power matters more than principle, and where truth is replaced by control.
At the recent SPROUTS forum, held in the Russian republic of Tatarstan, Chinese investors showed up in force. Over 200 Chinese companies were represented. One of the largest projects discussed was a major logistics center named after Deng Xiaoping, the Chinese Communist leader who opened the door to the country’s rise. It is no coincidence that this center stands in Tatarstan, a region that has become a symbol of Russia’s growing dependence on China.
Russian officials, including Tatarstan’s Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, openly bragged about their expanding ties with China. Direct flights are now running between Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, and multiple Chinese cities. Trade between Tatarstan and China has stayed above $3 billion for two years in a row. Xiang Bo, China’s consul general in Kazan, proudly called Tatarstan a “first line” partner in the growing China-Russia alliance.
Let us not be fooled. This is not about peaceful trade or harmless cooperation. This is about two authoritarian powers joining forces to challenge the West—especially the United States. China has never once condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. While pretending to offer peace plans, it has done nothing but make empty gestures. Behind the scenes, China has helped Russia avoid the economic sanctions meant to punish its aggression. A German report earlier this year showed that China is responsible for about 80 percent of those sanctions-evading efforts.
NATO has rightly called China a “decisive enabler” of the war. Without Chinese money and goods, Russia’s economy would be in far worse shape. This support has allowed Vladimir Putin to continue his brutal campaign, and it has strengthened the hand of every dictator who watches from the sidelines.
Americans must recognize what is happening. The Chinese Communist Party is not just interested in building roads and factories in Russia. It is building influence. It is building alliances with other enemies of freedom. And it is doing so while our nation is still recovering from years of weak leadership under Joe Biden and his globalist allies.
Thankfully, under President Donald Trump, the United States is beginning to reclaim its strength. We are no longer bowing to foreign powers or turning a blind eye to threats overseas. But we must remain watchful. The growing China-Russia partnership is a warning to us all. It tells us that the enemies of the West are not resting. They are organizing. They are investing. And they are preparing for a world in which America is no longer strong.
We cannot allow that world to come to pass. We must stand firm in our values, support our allies, and continue to hold the line against tyranny. Our forefathers built this nation on truth, courage, and the belief that freedom is worth fighting for. Let us not forget their example.
The time to act is now. The time to pray, to prepare, and to protect our country has come again. May God bless America, and may we never forget what is at stake.
