Police in Pennsylvania are searching for a 21-year-old woman accused of unleashing a violent road rage attack that left another driver injured.
Authorities say Imeera Burnett is wanted on assault charges after allegedly punching a woman in the face during a heated confrontation in Upper Darby Township on Monday evening, near the busy 69th Street Transit Center.
According to Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt, the incident began when the victim honked her horn after a Dodge Charger cut in front of her. The driver of that car, identified as Burnett, allegedly pulled over, got out, and walked up to the other driver’s window. That’s when police say she punched the victim in the side of the face before being pulled back into her car by a passenger.
The victim quickly snapped a photo of Burnett’s license plate before the vehicle sped away. Police confirmed the woman suffered a facial injury, though it was not considered severe.
Superintendent Bernhardt urged Burnett to surrender. “Turn yourself in. Your emotions got the best of you, and now you’re going to have to answer to the charges of assaulting another person,” he said.
Court records show Burnett already has a history in Pennsylvania’s legal system, with previous cases involving theft, resisting arrest, and simple assault.
As of now, Burnett remains wanted as police continue asking for the public’s help in tracking her down.
