A man bearing the same name as his father is wanted for allegedly murdering both of his parents last month, Texas authorities announced.
Christopher Leman Jr.’s location is unknown, at least as of Friday morning. He is “not in custody and is considered a danger to the community,” the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
On July 11, at about 5:30 p.m., a family member of residents at a home on the 10500 block of Crosby Lynchburg Road in east Harris County asked deputies to do a welfare check because he had not heard from them.
When deputies got there, they found Christopher Leman Sr., 75, and Mary Leman, 73, inside “suffering from severe injuries.”
Christopher Leman Sr. was pronounced dead at the home – in the living room – while Mary Leman was found alive and brought to a nearby hospital. She was expected to survive but died two days later, according to the sheriff’s office.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez gave more details into the violence on the same day the victims were found. He said the home “is in a heavily vegetated area, approximately half a mile west of the roadway” and that Christopher Leman Sr. was found with a gunshot wound.
While Mary Leman was also believed to have been shot, after being examined at the hospital, Gonzalez retracted this belief, saying she had “a laceration to her head but it does not appear she was shot.”
Due to the evidence collected and leads followed in the preliminary investigation, the married couple’s 47-year-old son was identified as the suspect in the murders. Christopher Leman Jr. is specifically wanted for capital murder. A person convicted of capital murder in Texas is eligible for the death penalty.
Authorities want anyone with information about Christopher Leman Jr. to contact them immediately.
“It’s just a sad situation when you have any type of death like this, but these people are in their mid-70s, probably well into their retirement. I’m sure they didn’t deserve this,” Harris County Major Anthony McConnell said in July according to Houston-based Fox affiliate KRIV.
