As the world is getting wound up for the highly anticipated meeting between US President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin of Russia, X user Adam Moczar has decided to share an old clip of Greek MEP Afroditi Latinopoulou.
MEP Latinopoulou is the sole member of the right-wing nationalist Foní Logikís (FL) party in the European Parliament. Her party got 3.04 per cent of the popular vote in the 2024 EP election in Greece, and is a member of the Patriots of Europe group, founded by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of Hungary in July 2024.
Latinopoulou was one of the featured speakers at CPAC Hungary 2025 in Budapest, Hungary, back in May, which is where she gave the speech, a short clip of which Moczar shared on social media earlier this week. The post got 2,200 likes, 512 retweets, and 65 comments, proving that her message still has relevance. Moczar ended the caption to his post with ‘MEGA’, an acronym that stands for Make Europe Great Again.
In her speech, MEP Latinopoulou told the audience:
‘Hungary is fortunate to have a visionary leader, Viktor Orbán, who is guiding the nation on the path of virtue and freedom. A leader who did not hesitate to confront the EU elite to protect his country. That is why today you see a Hungary that is clean, without ghettos, without [the] woke agenda. You see a Hungary being Hungarian.
Hungary chose sovereignty, and did so with courage. It’s sent a powerful message: The definition of who we are is ours to give. And in Europe, we need more Orbáns and fewer Macrons.’
The reactions to the clip have been overwhelmingly positive thus far. One user wrote: ‘Best video of the day. Those like Viktor Orbán are giants among the decent, moral, top political office holders…’ Meanwhile, another user pointed out the recent rise in popularity of right-wing populist parties in Europe, writing: ‘The FPÖ are polling 1st in Austria, The RN Party is polling 1st in France, The AfD are polling 1st in Germany, Reform UK are polling 1st in Britain. Europeans are voting for the most right-wing party available.’
