For years, President Donald Trump has complained of being the victim of politically motivated prosecutions by a weaponized justice system.
Yet according to journalist and political commentator Miranda Devine, Trump has now turned the tables by holding those who went after him accountable.Â
“If you come for the king, you’d best not miss”
Devine made that argument in an op-ed piece published by the New York Post this past weekend, recalling how Democrats “threw everything” at the president.

This included using manufactured intelligence to advance the now discredited claim that Trump colluded with Russia’s government while running for office in 2016.
Yet Devine noted that those attempts at destroying Trump “failed spectacularly,” leading her to remark, “As the saying goes: If you come for the king, you’d best not miss. Now accountability is afoot.”
Mortgage fraud allegations against Adam Schiff and Letitia James
The columnist then highlighted the fact that Attorney General Pam Bondi has appointed Special Attorney Ed Martin to investigate California Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
The New York Post reported earlier this month that Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director William Pulte sent a letter to Bondi concerning possible mortgage fraud on Schiff’s part.
“Mr. Schiff appears to have falsified records in order to receive favorable loan terms, and also appears to have been aware of the financial benefits of a primary residence mortgage when compared to a secondary residence mortgage as a spokesperson in 2023 told the media outlet CNN that, ‘Adam’s California and Maryland addresses have been listed as primary residences for loan purposes because they are both occupied throughout the year and to distinguish them from a vacation property,'” the it read.
“Schiff has been the most enthusiastic Democrat to use the phrase ‘No one is above the law,'” Devine observed before asserting, “Now he’s about to find out the hard way.”
James is being investigated for potentially violating Trump’s civil rights
Meanwhile James is facing her own mortgage fraud allegations connected with properties that she owns in Virginia and her home state.
What’s more, the New York attorney general is also being investigated for potentially violating the president’s civil rights.
That investigation stems from the $454 million civil fraud she brought against Trump which some legal experts regarded as being spurious.
As Devine was quick to remind her readers, James ran for office on a pledge to “take on” Trump, someone whom she dismissed as an “illegitimate president.”
