Joe Rogan has officially been dethroned as the top podcast host in America. “The MeidasTouch Podcast,” known for its frequent criticism of President Donald Trump, has surged to the No. 1 spot on YouTube.
The history
For years, podcast charts have featured conservative voices. Among the top 10 are Rogan, Shawn Ryan and Ben Shapiro — hosts whose shows Trump appeared on during his 2024 presidential campaign.
MeidasTouch
Since Trump’s return to the White House, “The MeidasTouch Podcast” has been hitting the top of the charts. It has quickly become one of the country’s most listened-to shows, suggesting a change in what kind of political content resonates with audiences during this administration.
The data
According to recent YouTube data, “The MeidasTouch Podcast” currently ranks as the No. 1 podcast on the platform in the United States, pushing “The Joe Rogan Experience” to second place. Analytics from Podscribe show that MeidasTouch recently amassed 124 million views, compared to 39.2 million for Rogan in the same time period.
Who founded MeidasTouch?
The podcast is part of the larger MeidasTouch Network, founded by brothers Ben, Brett and Jordy Meiselas. Originally known for viral videos and political ads opposing Trump, the network describes itself as a “pro-democracy news network.” In an interview with Newsweek, co-founder Brett said that overtaking major names like Rogan and Shapiro is gratifying, but the bigger goal is impact. “We’re proving that pro-democracy voices are not just necessary but in demand,” he said. “The American people are rejecting the idea that MAGA is mainstream.”
The aftermath
In an email shared with Newsweek, Brett elaborated on the network’s broader success. “The MeidasTouch Network has become a news institution that now receives more views than cable news, including Fox. Not only was The MeidasTouch Podcast ranked No. 1, but several other shows on our network also made the list — ‘Legal AF’ at No. 21, ‘The Adam Mockler Show’ at No. 39, and ‘Mea Culpa With Michael Cohen’ at No. 76. We’re continuing to expand the network and add new voices, most recently with the addition of Katie Phang.”
