DOUGLASVILLE, GA – In a bustling Douglas County shopping center, allegations have surfaced against a man accused of being a serial rapist. Bobby Lee Hart Jr., 52, now sits in jail, facing charges of sexually assaulting three women over a span of 13 years.
Amber Jones, who encountered Hart at her workplace, described his behavior as aggressive, saying he would become angry if his advances were rejected. “He wouldn’t take no for an answer,” Jones said, recalling how Hart would make inappropriate remarks and harass women at the restaurant.
Authorities allege that Hart’s actions escalated to sexual assault. In 2012, he reportedly attacked a woman at Millwood Park Apartments. Three years ago, another alleged assault occurred in a shopping center parking lot, while a third took place in the back of his tractor trailer last November on Douglas Boulevard.
A law enforcement source noted the challenges of the case, highlighting the typical “he said, she said” nature of such allegations. Despite this, Jones insists the victims are truthful, citing Hart’s history of inappropriate behavior in the county.
Efforts to reach Hart for comment were unsuccessful. Attempts to contact him via a listed phone number were met with a disconnection, and no response was received at his known residence.
Questions remain about the delay in filing charges. The sheriff’s office has yet to provide a clear answer, although Hart remains in custody without bond as the investigation continues.
