August 3 was the anniversary of the death of the great Russian 20th century anti-Communist writer Alexander Solzhenitsyn. A survivor of the Soviet gulags and Soviet mass murder, Solzhenitsyn tried for decades to warn the West that we were much closer to the tyranny, irreligious selfishness, brutality, and genocide of Communist dictatorships than we might think.
