ORLANDO, FL – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has taken over the investigation into allegations against Congressman Cory Mills. Mills, a Republican representing Florida’s seventh congressional district, faces accusations from his former girlfriend, Lindseay Langston, the reigning Miss United States. Langston alleges that Mills threatened to release intimate videos and photos of her.
Screenshots of the purported conversations between Mills and Langston reveal exchanges where Mills allegedly expressed intentions to share the videos. One message from May 22 reads, “Thanks again for the videos,” to which Langston reportedly replied, “Haven’t you hurt me enough?” Another message from June 12 allegedly shows Mills threatening to send the videos to an unidentified person.
Langston filed an incident report with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, claiming Mills made multiple threats to release compromising material and also threatened potential future partners. The report includes text and Instagram messages as evidence, which have been shared with law enforcement.
In response to the allegations, Mills issued a statement denying any awareness of the report, calling the claims false and a misrepresentation of his interactions with Langston. The accusations have sparked reactions from both Democrats and Republicans, with many urging a thorough investigation.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office has turned over all gathered information to state authorities. Efforts to obtain comments from Miss United States and the governor’s office are ongoing.
Mills has faced scrutiny for other issues as well. In February, police investigated an alleged assault at his Washington, D.C. home, but no charges were filed. Additionally, the House Ethics Committee is examining claims that Mills held government contracts while in office and potentially violated campaign finance laws.
Despite these controversies, Mills successfully secured re-election last year, winning by a significant margin. His district encompasses parts of Volusia and Seminole counties.
