ELYRIA, OH – The search for a missing teenager in Elyria came to a tragic conclusion when the body of 16-year-old Vincent Pabon was discovered in the Black River. The discovery was made by a drone operator near the East Falls Riverwalk, close to the local police station.
Vincent had been missing since Thursday morning, prompting a desperate search by family, friends, and authorities. Reports indicate that he had been drinking alcohol with others when he accidentally fell into the river and did not resurface.
The Lorain County Coroner, working alongside the family, confirmed Vincent’s identity. This shifts the investigation from a missing person case to a death investigation, with authorities continuing to collaborate with the coroner’s office.
Captain Bill Lantz of the Elyria Police Department noted a two-hour discrepancy between Vincent’s fall and when he was reported missing. This gap is now a focal point of the ongoing investigation.
Jacob Rosado, a 24-year-old who reported Vincent missing, has been arrested. He faces charges of providing alcohol to a minor and tampering with evidence. Rosado is being held on a $100,000 bond.
Authorities are also re-examining a previous incident involving both Rosado and Vincent, where Vincent was reportedly a victim.
The community remains in shock as they await further details from the investigation.
