DeSantis has spent years taking on every woke cause the Left throws at him.
Now someone just leaked his biggest secret.
And Ron DeSantis got caught red-handed with one embarrassing secret that sent leftists into overdrive.
DeSantis’ Spotify playlist exposes awkward contradiction
A mysterious website called “Panama Playlists” just dropped what could be the most awkward political revelation of 2025.
The site claims to have scraped the Spotify playlists of major political figures for over a year – and Governor Ron DeSantis’ alleged musical tastes are raising some serious eyebrows.
According to the leaked playlist, the man who championed Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” legislation apparently loves jamming out to some pretty surprising artists.
We’re talking about songs from LGBTQ+ icons like Elton John and Queen sitting right next to more predictable choices like AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” and Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.”
The site reveals DeSantis’ Spotify profile picture shows him in his military uniform, and his collection is described as a “hodge-podge mix.”
But here’s where it gets really interesting – or really awkward, depending on your perspective.
DeSantis’ alleged playlist also includes Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl,” Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the U.S.A.,” and the clean version of CeeLo Green’s “Forget You.”
The Panama Playlists creator claims they’ve been tracking these accounts continuously, noting, “Some individuals even have a setting that displays their last played song. I scraped this continuously, so I know what songs they played, how many times, and when.”¹
The irony isn’t lost on anyone
Look, nobody’s saying there’s anything wrong with enjoying good music, regardless of the artist’s personal life.
But the timing couldn’t be more awkward for DeSantis.
Just last week, his administration renewed efforts to enforce Florida’s 2023 law that prohibits youth from attending drag shows.
State attorneys filed a motion at the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals seeking nearly statewide enforcement of the controversial measure.
The only business that wouldn’t have to comply is Hamburger Mary’s in Orlando, which successfully challenged the law in federal court back in 2023.
DeSantis has been vocal about defending the legislation, stating, “We are going to remain a refuge of sanity and a citadel of normalcy.”²
He’s argued that children shouldn’t be exposed to “inappropriate content” – while apparently listening to Queen, one of the most famous LGBTQ+ acts in music history.
Just last month, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier went after a Vero Beach restaurant for hosting an LGBTQ+ Pride event with drag performers.
The appellate court could give Florida the green light to start revoking liquor licenses from businesses that host drag shows.
Other political figures also exposed
The musical embarrassment wasn’t limited to DeSantis.
Panama Playlists supposedly got their hands on playlists from major Trump administration players too.
Turns out JD Vance might be secretly jamming to the Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” and Justin Bieber’s “One Time.”
His “Gold on the Ceiling” playlist reportedly includes One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” – because nothing says tough conservative like boy band ballads.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s alleged baby shower playlist features Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls),” Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” and Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.”
That last one might not sit well with Trump, considering his ongoing feud with Swift.
Attorney General Pam Bondi is supposedly listening to Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself,” Chance the Rapper’s “Same Drugs,” and Usher’s “Yeah!”
The whole thing reads like a comedy sketch – tough-talking conservative politicians secretly bopping along to pop hits and LGBTQ+ anthems.
The bigger picture on Florida’s culture wars
While DeSantis deals with the awkwardness of his alleged playlist, Florida’s legal battle over drag shows continues heating up.
The state’s request to narrow the federal injunction focuses on a recent Supreme Court decision regarding Trump’s birthright citizenship efforts.
That ruling barred “universal” injunctions – and Florida’s lawyers think they can use that precedent to their advantage.
Brandon Wolf from the Human Rights Campaign told Watermark Out News that “The governor’s goal is for our community to censor our expression in accordance with the most extreme reading of the law.”³
Wolf added, “We must stand in support of drag performers and the small businesses that host them . . . That is what it looks like to resist the right-wing agenda.”
The legal fight has been going on since 2023, when U.S. District Judge sided with Hamburger Mary’s and issued the preliminary injunction preventing statewide enforcement.
Florida asked for a rehearing on that injunction back in June, but that request is still pending.
If businesses start facing enforcement again, local governments would also be prohibited from issuing public permits for events that could expose children to drag performances.
Questions about authenticity remain
Here’s the thing – nobody’s actually confirmed these playlists are real.
This whole Panama Playlists deal could be some elaborate prank designed to make conservative politicians look ridiculous.
DeSantis’ people haven’t said a word about whether the playlist is legit or not.
But if it is real, the political implications are pretty fascinating.
Here you have a governor who’s made fighting LGBTQ+ “ideology” a cornerstone of his political brand, potentially listening to music from the very community he’s been targeting with legislation.
Makes you wonder if these politicians actually buy what they’re selling, or if they’re just telling their voters what they want to hear while listening to completely different music behind closed doors.
The culture war continues
Whether DeSantis really listens to Queen or not doesn’t change anything about Florida’s legal strategy.
The state’s still dead set on protecting traditional family values and keeping kids away from inappropriate content.
The other side keeps screaming about discrimination and free speech violations.
The 11th Circuit Court gets to sort this mess out while the constitutional challenges keep dragging on.
But man, the timing of this playlist leak is pretty perfect if you’re trying to embarrass DeSantis.
His opponents are already having a field day pointing out what looks like massive hypocrisy in his culture war crusade.
Real or fake, these playlists just threw a wrench into Florida’s ongoing battles over LGBTQ+ rights.
And they’ve given DeSantis’ critics plenty of ammunition to question the sincerity of his anti-woke stance.
The governor who promised to be a “refuge of sanity” might have some explaining to do about his alleged taste in music.
Or maybe he’ll just shrug it off and keep fighting the culture wars – with or without a Queen soundtrack playing in the background.
