The change is so crazy even less radical Leftists are disavowing the insane ones. They claim to be unable to stomach what their party has become. And when these voices speak out against the socialist takeover, it is not coming from a place of sudden conservative conversion. No, they are frightened for their lives as they watch their cities and institutions crumble under radical ideology.

Comedian and HBO host Bill Maher predicted a 2028 presidential victory for Republicans in general—and perhaps for Vice President J.D. Vance specifically—if New York City elects Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani as its next mayor…
‘New York is New York!’ Maher explained. ‘It’s the media capital, it’s the financial capital. It is a bellwether like no other city is in this country. So don’t tell me that who the mayor of New York is doesn’t matter.’
Maher’s prediction was specific and chilling for the Left. He described Mamdani as:
[A] walking commercial for the Republican Party nationally.
The policies Mamdani champions read like a socialist fever dream.
To wit:
– State-run grocery stores. (Because that worked so well in Venezuela, right?);
– Marxist wealth redistribution; and
– Quotes straight from communist manifestos.
Maher spoke frankly about these proposals. He compared them to “Cuba and the Soviet Union and Venezuela.” When even Bill Maher thinks you are too far left, it is time to move back toward the center.
What makes Mamdani particularly dangerous? According to Maher’s guest James Kirchick:
[E]verything that the crazy far-right alleged about Obama: wasn’t born in America, Islamist, socialist, antisemite, and hates America, it’s all true about this guy.
Strong words but look at the facts:
– The mayoral frontrunner has refused to condemn the phrase ‘globalize the intifada,’
– He backs anti-Israel boycott movements, and
– Roughly 30% of NYC voters support these extreme positions.
Let that sink in.
Even when progressive YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen tried to defend Mamdani, Maher shut him down cold. Cohen argued Republicans always create a “boogeyman.” Maher’s response?
You don’t have to boogeyman [Mamdani]! He does it to himself!
Sometimes the truth just writes itself.
The debate revealed a stunning split within communist/globalist ranks. Cohen insisted Bernie Sanders’ popularity proved Americans would accept socialism. Maher delivered the reality check: Bernie “never would be” president. Think about that exchange. It shows how far the party’s radical wing has drifted from political reality. Even liberal stalwarts like Maher recognize the danger.
Fortunately, as Maher himself admits, “American voters are too smart to fall for socialism forever.”
The radical left’s overreach
is writing campaign ads for conservatives.
What Conservatism needs most is sufficient time for the radical Left to destroy themselves. Common sense and traditional values will always triumph over socialist fantasies. Always have, always will.
