Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, pulled no punches Sunday at a progressive rally in Phoenix, referring to former President Donald Trump with an expletive and slamming Republican lawmakers and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Speaking at the MoveOn “Won’t Back Down Tour,” Crockett fired up the crowd alongside Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., and Rep. Yassamin Ansari, D-Ariz. The rally aimed to galvanize Democratic voters ahead of the 2026 midterms.
“Listen, Donald Trump is a piece of s—. OK, we know that,” Crockett declared to cheers from the audience.
Before the jab, Crockett expressed confidence that Democrats will take back the White House in 2028. She emphasized that success would require the party to adopt a more aggressive posture, especially when dealing with institutions she considers compromised.
She accused the Supreme Court of enabling Trump’s agenda, calling it “corrupt” and demanding stronger oversight. “We need to have some real guardrails around this Supreme Court,” Crockett said, blaming it for “paving the way” for GOP policies.
“In a functioning democracy, he still would not be able to get away with this,” she argued, pointing to what she described as complicity among House and Senate Republicans, as well as the judiciary.
Crockett also criticized the lack of ethics oversight for Supreme Court justices, noting that lower courts have clearer standards. “We know they’re taking money – we have the paper trail – and they refuse to put guardrails on themselves,” she said.
This isn’t Crockett’s first time targeting Trump. On social media, she’s previously called him a “buffoon” and a “mofo.” Trump has fired back, mocking Crockett as “low IQ” and dismissing the idea that she represents the future of the Democratic Party.
