President Trump has reportedly expressed significant anger regarding the mishandling of Jeffrey Epstein files as the White House enters what sources describe as complete crisis management mode.
The administration finds itself desperately attempting to shift public attention away from the escalating controversy.
The Justice Department and FBI face intense scrutiny as officials work frantically to contain the damage following what Attorney General Pam Bondi characterized as a communications failure that has expanded into a full-scale crisis.
The situation has created substantial tension within the administration’s highest levels.
Trump continues to express frustration about the conflicting narratives surrounding Epstein emerging from Washington D.C. as the story maintains its grip on national headlines.
The president’s anger has been directed at multiple agencies for their inability to present a unified response.
“This is a pretty substantial distraction,” a White House source told the Washington Post, citing “nearly a dozen people close to the situation.”
The source revealed the depth of internal discord affecting the administration’s operations.
“While many are trying to keep the unity, in many ways, the DOJ and the FBI are breaking at the seams. Many are wondering how sustainable this is going to be for all the parties involved – be it the FBI director or attorney general,” the source continued.
Attorney General Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel’s efforts to reduce speculation about Epstein have generated additional conspiracy theories and negative media coverage.
“They completely miscalculated the fever pitch to which they built this up,” Stephen A. Saltzburg, a former Justice Department official told the Post.
“Now, they seem to be in full-bore panic mode, trying to change the subject and flailing in an effort to make sense of what makes no sense,” Saltzburg added.
Despite mounting pressure, Trump has rejected the option that many believe could resolve the crisis and restore stability to his administration.
Sources indicate the president fears creating additional controversy through personnel changes.
“He does not want to create a bigger spectacle by firing anyone,” the source told the Post.
This decision has left Bondi, Patel and FBI deputy director Dan Bongino to continue their unsuccessful efforts to end speculation surrounding the death of one of the most notorious figures of recent decades.
The decision to release security footage from outside Epstein’s jail cell from the night he died was initiated by Patel and Bongino, according to multiple sources.
The move was intended to counter theories suggesting Epstein was murdered rather than having taken his own life.
The video release created additional problems when it was discovered that three minutes of footage from that night were missing.
This gap in the recording intensified rather than reduced conspiracy theories surrounding Epstein’s death in 2019.
Both officials now privately express regret that they have been unable to release more comprehensive Epstein files.
Sources indicate Bongino is considering resignation as the three principals engage in mutual blame for the crisis.
Bongino’s frustration reached a breaking point in a stunning post to X over the weekend.
He revealed matters that have “shocked me down to my core” during his tenure in office, Resist the Mainstream reported.
He shared a cryptic message on social media vowing to uncover “the truth” amid mounting criticism of his handling of the Epstein files.

A source inside the DOJ told the Daily Mail that Bongino was prepared to resign if Attorney General Pam Bondi didn’t step down first.
