During a press conference Friday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the Department of Homeland Security has officially begun deporting illegal immigrant detainees by plane directly from the Alligator Alcatraz facility in the Everglades.
“We stood up Alligator Alcatraz in just eight days as a centralized facility for deportation staging. The facility has a two-mile runway that allows federal military aircraft to transport illegal aliens out of the country, right on site,” DeSantis announced.
He added, “these deportation flights operated by DHS are underway, and we will support efforts to increase cadence of the flights so that the number of illegal aliens deported keeps increasing.”

“This is a mandate set upon us by the American people. Florida’s state and local agencies are serving as force multipliers for federal efforts to arrest and deport illegal aliens. We’re charging full speed ahead to deliver on immigration enforcement,” DeSantis further asserted.
The facility can currently hold 2000 illegals but is being modified so it can hold double that.
It has been so successful so far that the DHS is looking at multiple other locations across the country for similar facilities.
“The flights are going, I think that cadence is going to increase. I think you’re going to continue to see the numbers really go up dramatically,” DeSantis added.

“And, then, as there’s demand, we can expand the footprint here to 3,000, and then we can do Camp Blanding, and I said we’ve always been ready, willing and able to do that. I just, I don’t want it to be something where people … illegals are just being like stored there and then just kind of sitting,” he emphasised.

The governor also went off on Democrats and the media over false “narratives” about illegals being held in the facility.
“I’ve NEVER seen ONE OF YOU show up to comfort an angel mom who’s lost a child because of illegal alien crime. I’ve NEVER seen you raise ANY concern about the victims of illegal immigration,” he raged.
“NOT ONE TIME have I seen these Democrats caravan anywhere in this state, hold a press conference, to be able to stand in solidarity with victims. I’ve NEVER seen that! These are stunts they’re pulling because they’re increasingly politically irrelevant in this state.” DeSantis added.

They’re obsessed with defending violent criminals.
Not only have they never shown up to comfort an angel mom, they couldn’t even stand up for those moms at the SOTU address. https://t.co/QGA7qHFZFM
