A top Scottish newspaper is facing the wrath of Americans after it mocked President Donald Trump in its latest cover.
On Friday, the president arrived in Scotland for a five-day “working visit” trip centered on trade deals.
In response, a relatively new, left-wing Scottish newspaper known as “The National” chose to mock him as a “convicted felon.”

Trump technically is a convicted felon, but many believe, based on strong evidence, that he was unfairly convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the infamous “hush money” case.
The problem, critics say, is that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg relied on a novel and legally questionable theory to elevate what were essentially misdemeanor charges to felonies.
Bragg’s team specifically argued that the falsification of business records — a misdemeanor — was intended to hide violations of federal campaign finance laws or state election laws, which would make it a felony. But critics contend this connection was tenuous and lacked precedent.
Yet The National didn’t mention any of this in its cover or any of its stories, much to the annoyance of Trump supporters.

This is a really tacky and classless front page. But it’s been an effective way to get your gutter trash out in front of all the other trash. So, well done you. Trash.

He’s not convicted of anything. His 34/2=17=Q “felonies” are still in appellate courts. And they were all fake charges anyway, drummed up after scouring through decades of massive transactions, and extending the statute of limitations.
So, in conclusion, y’all are retarded.

We don’t care what Scotland thinks. President Trump is saving the world, and The National is too stupid to get it. pic.twitter.com/fj482hSvxw

After the backlash ensued, the paper doubled down.
“Our viral front page today was very simple,” the paper wrote on X. “We told the facts about Donald Trump, a man who doesn’t like the facts.”
The attached piece continued with this false narrative.
“In 2023, Trump was convicted of 34 felonies for falsifying business records related to hush-money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in order to buy her silence, as well as facing sexual assault allegations dating back to the 1970s,” the piece reads.
“He may be president, but the fact is, a man who openly boasted about grabbing women ‘by the p—y’ is visiting Scotland. We do not welcome him,” the piece continues.
The paper eventually tripled down with the following post:

Unfortunately, the paper’s sentiment appears to be widespread in Scotland.
An Ipsos poll published in March found that 71 percent of the Scottish public held an unfavorable opinion of him.
“Everyone in Scotland hates him,” Scottish farmer Michael Forbes claimed in a recent statement to The New York Times.
Why? Probably because of leftist media brainwashing, which is especially prevalent in Europe because of their attacks on dissenting thought.
The Times’ report on Trump’s visit to Scotland added that the police in Scotland were “bracing for demonstrations against Mr. Trump during his visit.”
