President Donald Trump is not listed among any known associates or clients of Jeffrey Epstein, according to a former attorney for the late financier.
David Schoen, who represented Epstein shortly before his 2019 death, publicly stated that Epstein had no damaging information about Trump.
Schoen revealed he had directly questioned Epstein about any potential dirt on Trump during his final days. His response was clear: Trump had no involvement. These statements were initially made in June but resurfaced this week amid renewed scrutiny of the Trump administration’s handling of Epstein-related records.
A leaked Justice Department memo recently made public by Axios concluded that Epstein died by suicide and had not maintained any kind of list meant for blackmail purposes. This disclosure further fueled debate around the case and the accusations swirling around elites once connected to Epstein.
Schoen wrote on X that he had been hired as Epstein’s criminal defense attorney just nine days before his death. He emphasized that Epstein had consistently sought his legal advice for months prior. Schoen asserted with certainty that Epstein had no incriminating information regarding Trump.
Alan Dershowitz, another of Epstein’s former legal representatives, also pushed back against claims of a government cover-up involving Trump, per the Conservative Brief.
Dershowitz argued that two New York courts, not Trump or his Justice Department, were responsible for withholding documents in the Epstein case.
Dershowitz helped secure Epstein’s controversial 2008 plea deal. He has since maintained that no “client list” exists, and what’s often described as such is actually a redacted FBI affidavit filled with accusations from victims.
In a NewsNation interview with Chris Cuomo, Dershowitz reiterated that no current public officials are named in any of the materials he reviewed. He claimed to have knowledge of the identities behind redacted names but emphasized that none of them are presently in office.
When asked by Cuomo whether Trump’s administration could release a client list, Dershowitz firmly denied the existence of such a list. He explained that people have misunderstood what is in the FBI’s documents, confusing accuser affidavits with some sort of organized client database.
He clarified that these affidavits contained accusations of sexual misconduct against various people. The names of those accused have been blacked out in the released documents, he said, but there was never an official list kept by Epstein.
According to Dershowitz, he could deduce the identities of those named due to his investigative work in the case. Some individuals were formerly in public office or have since passed away, but none are active officeholders.
He also emphasized that two Manhattan judges have issued orders that prevent full disclosure of certain documents to protect alleged victims. These judicial decisions, not the Trump administration, are responsible for what remains concealed.
Dershowitz underscored that neither former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi nor President Trump could be blamed for the secrecy. He stressed that if they had information to release, they likely already would have.
He added that most names connected to the case have already been published in books and media reports. According to him, there are very few truly unknown individuals left in the files.
Dershowitz concluded by criticizing the media for not thoroughly investigating the names that have already been made public. He stated that what many believe to be hidden information is mostly accessible with diligent research.
Ultimately, the narrative suggesting Trump is hiding something related to Epstein is not supported by those closest to the case. Both Schoen and Dershowitz assert that Trump had no damaging connection to Epstein’s operations.
