The U.S. Senate just confirmed President Donald Trump’s controversial pick to serve as the next under secretary of the Air Force.
Military Times reports that former Space Force Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Lohmeier was approved by the Senate by a vote of 52-46.
This would suggest that the vote unfolded according to party lines, which is indeed the case.
Under the previous administration, Lt. Col. Lohmeier was removed for exposing the rise of Marxism and Critical Race Theory in our military.
Today, he’s been confirmed as Under Secretary of the Air Force.
I look forward to having him at the Pentagon. pic.twitter.com/J8BzocxngZ

Who is Matthew Lohmeier?
A rundown of Lohmeier’s background is provided by the Department of Defense.
It states:
Lohmeier is a 2006 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and served in both the United States Air Force and the United States Space Force. While in uniform, he racked up over 1,200 hours in both the T-38 Talon and F-15C Eagle aircraft and also commanded a space-based missile warning system squadron.
This does not sound very controversial, and it is not. Rather, the controversy that surrounds Lohmeier stems from his criticism of the use of diversity initiatives, critical race theory, and Marxism in the military.
Air Force Times reports:
In May 2021, while serving as commander of the 11th Space Warning Squadron at Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado, Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier self-published the book, “Irresistible Revolution: Marxism’s Goal of Conquest and the Unmaking of the American Military.” Shortly after, Lohmeier appeared on a podcast where he criticized diversity initiatives, critical race theory and Marxism as anti-American, divisive and threats to the nation, claiming those schools of thought were spreading through the military and weakening it.
As a result, Lohmeier was fired. Then, came President Trump.
Justice at last
Trump took a major step toward correcting Lohmeier’s termination by nominating him to the Air Force post.
He did so in a social media message that he posted shortly before the presidential inauguration.
Trump, at the time, wrote:
I am pleased to announce that Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Lohmeier will be the next United States Under Secretary of the Air Force. Matt is a former fighter pilot, and Space Force Squadron Commander, who has devoted his life to serving our Great Nation. He is proud graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. Matthew will work with the great Secretary of Defense Nominee, Pete Hegseth, to end the devastating “woke” policies that have destroyed our Military, and make our country strong again.
Now, the Senate has made it official by confirming Lohmeier.
Lohmeier, at the time of this writing, has not released a public statement on his confirmation.
