Ghislaine Maxwell was reportedly cooperative with the Department of Justice and worked with the office in their ongoing investigation into former financier Jeffrey Epstein.
With the pressure increasing for the Trump administration concerning details of Epstein’s time before his incarceration, it became headline news that Epstein’s former friend and business partner would again be in the DOJ crosshairs, as The Daily Mail reported.
According to recent reports from Maxwell’s attorney, she answered “every single question” during the recent inquiry.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in Epstein’s recruitment, grooming, and abuse of underage girls.
The Interview
Maxwell’s attorney, David Oscar Markus, said that Maxwell met with Tod Blanche, who is a top official for the Justice Department.
“She was asked maybe about 100 different people. She answered questions about everybody, and she didn’t hold anything back,” Markus said Friday after two days of interviews.
“They asked about every single, every possible thing you could imagine — everything,” he said.
The day before, Blanche said that the Justice Department would offer more information about what the government learned “at the appropriate time.”
From the DOJ
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced earlier in the week that an interview request had been made of Maxwell, who is believed to be Epstein’s longtime girlfriend.
Bondi reportedly wanted to ask Maxwell, “What do you know?”
This announcement comes on the heels of the Justice Department’s announcement that there is no “client list” — that the Epstein files found by the DOJ don’t contain anything similar to that kind of document.
There was intense backlash from many, particularly conservatives, after the announcement, causing widespread calls for accountability.
From Trump
The Rampant unrest from Americans about the status of the list, from both the left and the right, caused Trump to speak out about the backlash, saying that his Justice Department was doing a great job.
Trump took to Truth Social to say, “What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?’ They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a fantastic job! We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening,” he wrote on Truth Social.
He said he believes “selfish people” are going after what he called the “perfect administration” over Epstein, who, as Trump put it, “never dies.”
Trump has been accused of being on Epstein’s “list” because of his previous social interactions with the late financier.
