Philip Droege, Records Official Who Triggered Mar-a-Lago Raid, Still Employed In Trump Administration
In a stunning revelation, Investigative Journalist Laura Loomer has exposed a serious internal conflict in the Trump White House. Biden-era holdover, Philip Droege, the longtime Director of the White House Office of Records Management, still holds a position in the Trump administration. This comes despite his central role in the events that led to the FBI’s unprecedented Mar-a-Lago raid.
According to records Laura Loomer uncovered, Droege informed then-Archivist of the United States David Ferriero in early 2021 that Trump allegedly took 15 boxes of official documents from the White House to his Mar-a-Lago residence after leaving office that January.
How Philip Droege and David Ferriero Triggered the FBI Raid
David S. Ferriero, who served as the National Archivist from 2009 to 2022, was at the center of the dispute over presidential records that the Biden administration later weaponized against Trump.
Acting on information provided by Droege, Ferriero initiated a records retrieval process that culminated in the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) taking back 15 boxes from Mar-a-Lago in February 2022.
Ferriero then escalated the issue by referring it to Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ). Additionally, he claimed classified documents were among the materials. His referral triggered the infamous FBI Mar-a-Largo raid on August 8, 2022. This means, the Mar-a-Largo raid occurred despite the fact that the Presidential Records Act (PRA) carries no criminal penalties.
In a now-infamous interview with The Washington Post, Ferriero explicitly credited Droege with tipping him off:
“Regarding the material Trump took to Florida, Ferriero said the White House Office of Records Management told him about a group of boxes in the White House residence that should go to the Archives.”
Ferriero’s Anti-Trump Bias Fueled the FBI Mar-a-Largo Raid Narrative
Ferriero’s bias against President Trump was no secret. He publicly joked about supposed toilet-flushed documents and even gave Droege a plunger with his name on it during a farewell tour at the National Archives. This was a mockery that played directly into the media’s effort to smear Trump with stories of disappearing records during his presidency.
“I presented Phil with a plunger with his name on it,” Ferriero reportedly told The Washington Post, referencing media reports of papers clogging White House toilets.
This “running joke” further fueled Democrat talking points accusing President Trump of hiding classified documents in a Mar-a-Lago bathroom, based on the fabricated claim that he was flushing records down the toilet.
How the DOJ Used the Presidential Records Act to Indict Trump
Ferriero’s February 18, 2022 letter to the House Oversight Committee first introduced the claim that officials had discovered ‘classified national security information’ in the boxes Trump returned. This letter served as the basis for DOJ action and ultimately helped justify the appointment of Special Counsel Jack Smith, who then pursued multiple indictments against Trump during the 2024 presidential campaign.
Without Ferriero’s letter and without Droege’s original tip, there would have been no FBI raid, no criminal referral, and no Espionage Act case against President Trump.
Philip Droege Still on Trump’s Payroll Despite Causing Mar-a-Lago Raid
Despite this glaring conflict of interest and Droege’s direct role in the most politicized federal raid in modern history, the latest 2025 White House Annual Report to Congress on Office Personnel lists Philip Droege as still serving as Director of Records Management for the Executive Office of the President.
Biden-era holdover Philip Droege personally set in motion the Mar-a-Largo raid on President Trump’s private residence, yet he remains on the Trump White House payroll, earning $168,000 a year as Director of Records Management.
This discovery leaves patriots across the country asking: Why is a Biden-era informant who helped facilitate the Mar-a-Lago raid still working inside the Trump White House?
GETTING TRUMP: Biden’s DOJ Used Mark Zuckerberg’s WhatsApp To Approve Mar a Lago Raid
Trump Raided, Biden Protected
President Trump’s home, Mar-a-Largo, was raided by the FBI and his records were seized. Meanwhile, authorities found Joe Biden’s classified documents stashed next to his Corvette in his Wilmington, Delaware garage. Additionally, Hunter Biden, his crack-addicted son, accessed the garage numerous times. Yet, Biden faced no charges. The Mar-a-Largo raid double standard couldn’t have been more blatant.
Lawmakers never designed the Presidential Records Act (PRA) to criminalize former presidents. Ferriero and Droege’s manipulation of the process turned a routine records dispute into a political weapon aimed at derailing Trump’s reelection campaign.
Trump Loyalists Want Answers: Why Is Biden’s Spy Still in the White House?
President Trump returned to the White House to restore law and order. That mission must begin from within. With traitorous Biden-era holdovers like Philip Droege still occupying sensitive government positions, the America First movement must demand answers and immediate accountability. Droege needlessly caused the Mar-a-Largo raid and must be held accountable.
If we want to drain the swamp, we must start by identifying and removing the deep-state bureaucrats who helped flood it in the first place.
