Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) applauds Vin Kruttiventi, candidate for Congress in California’s 13th District, for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, a written commitment to the voters of CA-13 to oppose and vote against all income tax hikes.
While many candidates claim to oppose tax increases during campaign season, only those who sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge put that promise in writing. The Pledge holds candidates accountable and makes it harder to break their word once in office.
By signing the Pledge, Kruttiventi has made a clear and public commitment to the hardworking taxpayers of the Central Valley: he will stand strong against efforts to raise taxes and fight for policies that promote economic growth and fiscal responsibility.
Kruttiventi’s signature on the Pledge sets him apart from the tax-and-spend politicians. He understands that Californians are already overtaxed and he’s committed to changing that.

Kruttiventi has exhibited a true dedication to fiscal responsibility and pro-growth tax policy by making this commitment. Norquist continued, “With Kruttiventi’s Pledge, we can trust that he will champion pro-growth policies, protect our economic freedom, and resist any attempts to burden Americans with even higher taxes.”
The Taxpayer Protection Pledge, created by ATR in 1985, has been signed by over 1,400 federal and state officials and candidates, including 191 members of the U.S. House and 44 U.S. Senators. President Ronald Reagan strongly supported the Pledge and campaigned for candidates who signed it.
Notably, while 85% of Republicans in Congress have signed the Pledge, zero Democrats have made the same written commitment to oppose tax hikes. Instead, Democrats continue to push tax-and-spend policies that harm job creation, punish small businesses, and make life more expensive for working families.
With Vin Kruttiventi’s signature, voters in CA-13 can be confident that he will fight for lower taxes, greater economic freedom, and a stronger, more prosperous future for all Californians.
