Newly released declassified documents are sending shockwaves through Washington, D.C., as allegations surface of a coordinated scheme involving Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and senior officials in the Obama administration to fabricate and promote the Trump-Russia collusion narrative.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who authorized the release of more than 100 pages of emails, memos and internal reports last Friday, described the effort as a “treasonous conspiracy” against then-candidate and later President Donald Trump.Â
Gabbard stated the documents constitute “overwhelming evidence” of a calculated attempt to discredit and delegitimize a duly elected president.
The declassified material includes whistleblower testimony from within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), communications between government agencies and internal intelligence assessments.Â
Gabbard alleges that these documents reveal a long-running operation by the Clinton campaign and key members of the Obama White House to construct a false narrative linking Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Whistleblowers claim intelligence officials were pressured to conform to a politically motivated narrative.Â
Gabbard has stated that the campaign involved coordination with the White House, the National Security Council, the Department of State and several top officials within the intelligence community.
Among those named in the documents are former President Barack Obama, former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former FBI Director James Comey, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, Secretary of State John Kerry and Attorney General Loretta Lynch.Â
Also referenced are Clinton campaign aides who allegedly worked closely with these officials in mid-2016.
Investigative journalist Paul Sperry, citing internal communications, reported that Clinton campaign staff were in direct contact with officials inside the Obama administration to generate material linking Trump to Russia.Â
“I’m told there are texts/emails indicating Hillary Clinton campaign aides directly coordinated with the Obama White House, NSC, State Dept and Intelligence Community officials in efforts to dig up dirt tying Donald Trump to Vladimir Putin in July 2016 …developing…” Sperry posted on X.
The documents also contain assessments by intelligence agencies that contradict later claims made by the Intelligence Community in early 2017.Â
A September 12, 2016, Intelligence Community Assessment stated, “Foreign adversaries do not have and will probably not obtain the capabilities to successfully execute widespread and undetected cyber attacks” on U.S. election infrastructure.
On December 7, 2016, an additional report issued by Clapper’s office reinforced that conclusion.Â
It found “foreign adversaries did not use cyberattacks on election infrastructure to alter the US Presidential election outcome,” adding there was no evidence to suggest the vote count had been compromised.
Despite these findings, just two days later, President Obama convened a meeting with key national security and intelligence officials, tasking them with conducting a new investigation into “Russian Election Meddling.”Â
The meeting included Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Rice, Kerry, Lynch and other senior aides.
Rift News outlined that this meeting led to the development of the January 7, 2017, Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), which concluded that Russia interfered in the election to help Donald Trump.Â
Gabbard contends that this assessment reversed the previous findings and relied heavily on unverified intelligence, including the now-debunked Steele dossier.
A whistleblower from the ODNI, who contributed to the earlier 2016 assessments, said they were pressured to endorse the revised 2017 ICA.Â
The whistleblower wrote, “As for the 2017 ICA’s judgement of a decisive Russian preference for then-candidate Donald Trump, I could not concur in good conscience based on information available, and my professional analytic judgement.”
The whistleblower’s superior allegedly told them, “You need to trust me on this,” referencing material that was not shared openly with analysts.Â
This material is believed to include the Steele dossier, a controversial intelligence file funded in part by the Clinton campaign and widely discredited in the years since.
Gabbard said the information in the released documents points to a deliberate effort to deceive the American public, manipulate public opinion and use the intelligence community for political purposes.Â
“We have whistleblowers, actually, coming forward now after we released these documents because there are people who were around, who were working within the intelligence community at this time who were so disgusted by what happened,” Gabbard stated.
She added, “They… want to see justice delivered… there must be indictments. Those responsible, no matter how powerful they are and were at that time, no matter who was involved in creating this treasonous conspiracy against the American people, they all must be held accountable.”
WATCH:
Gabbard announced plans to refer the matter to the Department of Justice and the FBI for criminal investigation, asserting that the individuals involved should face prosecution.Â
She emphasized that the scheme went beyond politics and represented a betrayal of the intelligence community’s core mission.
