Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Alabama, has some sage advice for United States citizens getting caught in ICE raids.
Amidst concerns that legal citizens are being swept up in immigration enforcement activity conducted by federal agencies, Pablo Manríquez of Migrant Insider asked Tuberville whether he “cared” if Americans are being detained during these ICE raids.

Senator, do you care if US citizens accidentally get detained in ICE raids?

“So Senator, do you care if U.S. citizens accidentally get detained in ICE raids?” Manríquez asked.
“If U.S. citizens?” Tuberville repeated.
“Yeah, it’s been happening a lot. It’s been having a lot with veterans in particular,” the reporter replied.
“Well, first of all, don’t put yourself in a situation where that happens,” the senator answered. “And I’m sure with all the illegals we have in this country, you’re gonna probably have some mistakes happen. That’s gonna happen. But again, as long as we take care of it the right way, understand they are our system, let them go. But again, if you’re gonna be hanging around people that are not citizens of this country, some things like that are gonna probably happen.”
This comes as the Trump administration has stepped up efforts to capture and deport illegal aliens who are unlawfully present in the United States. Leftist media organizations have seized on the cases in which citizens were detained during a raid, to be released at a later time when their citizenship was confirmed.
