President Donald Trump said he would welcome a renewed investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, including possible misconduct within U.S. intelligence agencies, as part of a broader federal probe now underway.
Speaking during an appearance on “Just the News, No Noise,” Trump indicated the new FBI investigation, which spans alleged abuses between 2016 and 2024, should include what he called the “Jeffrey Epstein hoax.”
The investigation is expected to examine claims that law enforcement was weaponized over multiple election cycles.
“I think they could look at all of it. It’s all the same scam,” Trump said. “They could look at this Jeffrey Epstein hoax also, because that’s the same stuff that’s all put out by Democrats.”
He stated that Attorney General Pam Bondi may appoint a special prosecutor to lead the effort. Trump also pledged to declassify key documents to assist the investigation.
“Well, I’m happy that they did that,” he said. “I don’t know much about it, but it deserves to be done.”
The president referenced concerns about how the Epstein case was handled, pointing to conclusions from the FBI and DOJ that the convicted sex offender died by suicide and did not leave a client list.
Trump said existing evidence on Epstein should be released.
“They’ve already looked at it, and they are looking at it, and I think all they have to do is put out anything credible,” he said.
Trump noted that some of his supporters have repeatedly demanded transparency on Epstein, despite earlier efforts to declassify files during his first term.
He criticized those individuals for continuing to press the issue.
“You know, some of the naive Republicans fall right into line, like they always do. They just don’t have the sustainability,” he said.
“But they ought to look into the Jeffrey Epstein hoax too, because that’s another hoax that’s frankly, put out by the Democrats pushing, pushing the Republicans.”
He recalled previous attempts to release Epstein-related material, some of which stalled under Bondi’s leadership.
Despite criticism from parts of the MAGA base, Trump said he continues to back Bondi.
In discussing the broader scope of the probe, Trump said years of politically motivated investigations may have led to tampering within federal files.
“I can imagine what they put into files, just like they did with the others,” Trump said. “The Steele dossier was a total fake, right? It took two years to figure that out.”
Trump specifically criticized former FBI directors James Comey and Chris Wray, saying their tenures coincided with what he described as partisan misuse of federal authority.
To assist with the investigation, Trump committed to releasing two classified annexes.
One, tied to the DOJ inspector general’s review of the Clinton email case, allegedly contains information the FBI failed to pursue, according to Just the News.
“I would do that. Absolutely,” he said. “The whole thing was a scam, yeah. And I would do that gladly.”
The second annex stems from Special Counsel John Durham’s work and reportedly shows that Hillary Clinton approved a plan to link Trump to Russia.
“I will absolutely declassify it,” he said.
“I think I love that they’re looking at all this stuff. If they are, I hope they are,” Trump concluded.
