Barack Obama used to be the unquestioned leader of the Democrat Party.
Not anymore.
And Barack Obama gave one piece of advice that made Whoopi Goldberg madder than hell.
Speaking at a fundraiser in New Jersey hosted by Governor Phil Murphy, Barack Obama urged Democrats to stop “whining” and “do something.”
“I think it’s going to require a little bit less navel-gazing and a little less whining and being in fetal positions. And it’s going to require Democrats to just toughen up,” Obama stated.
Obama also called out Democrats for failing to deliver policies that improve the lives of the America people.
“You want to deliver for people and make their lives better? You got to figure out how to do it,” Obama stated.
Obama cited Democrats support for anti-growth zoning policies that limit the supply of housing and make it impossible for working class Americans to buy a home.
“I don’t care how much you love working people. They can’t afford a house because all the rules in your state make it prohibitive to build. And zoning prevents multifamily structures because of NIMBY,” Obama added. “I don’t want to know your ideology, because you can’t build anything. It does not matter.”
Obama’s advice didn’t sit well with The View’s Whoopi Goldberg.
A decade ago, it would have been unthinkable for Goldberg to challenge Obama.
But Donald Trump’s two Presidential victories discredited the Obama version of the Democrat Party.
And Goldberg attacked Obama for saying Democrats should do more than whine on social media about Trump.
But Goldberg also showed how lost she was when she claimed the “No Kings” protest, which almost no American remembers took place, were a high point for Democrat Party activism in the second Trump term.
“Let me remind everybody who was out on the front lines marching when we had the giant marches that went on, it was the people, the people went out! They were not navel-gazing!” Goldberg declared. “It was older people who were saying, ‘Why are you touching my Social Security?’ It was not people whining. It was about people saying, ‘Why are you taking these rights from my child when my child was born here?’ This has not been about Democrats laying back.”
Goldberg took Obama head on claiming he was picking the wrong targets to be angry at,
“Democrats have been angry at what this man tried to do the last time. They’ve been angry this time. So, I — with much due respect to you both — I believe you are pointing the finger at the wrong person when you say Democrats,” Goldberg added.
Six months into the second Trump administration, Democrats are in complete disarray.
The party has no leaders and there is open civil war over the left’s demands that elected Democrats up the ante on their opposition to Trump’ agenda.
