House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said Tuesday that he supports more transparency regarding the files on disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
“I’m for transparency,” Johnson said during an exclusive interview on the Benny Johnson Show. “We’re intellectually consistent on this….he put together a team of his choosing, and they’re doing a great job. It’s a very delicate subject, but we should put everything out there and let the people decide.”
Host Benny Johnson asked the speaker if he would support Maxwell potentially testifying before Congress or Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., subpoenaing Epstein documents from the Department of Justice.
Speaker Johnson said yes, he wants transparency, but he hasn’t talked to Greene or Luna on that specific subject.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex-trafficking and an array of other charges in connection with her procurement of minors for Epstein’s indulgence.
She said she was willing to testify before Congress about the Epstein files, sources told The Daily Mail.
Epstein died in prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking of minors and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.
