ICE’s Houston operation just rounded up more than 1,300 illegal immigrants—among them, an airplane hijacker—exposing how the last administration’s open border chaos left dangerous criminals roaming free in our cities.
ICE’s Houston Sweep Exposes Criminal Element Protected Under Previous Policies
In June 2025, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Houston division carried out its largest operation yet—arresting 1,361 illegal immigrants, many with convictions for violent crimes. This sweep, concentrated in Southeast Texas and centered on Houston, included individuals previously convicted of homicide, child sex offenses, gang activity, and, shockingly, even airplane hijacking. For years, the previous administration’s policies tied the hands of law enforcement and allowed dangerous individuals to slip through the cracks, all in the name of “compassion” and “sanctuary.” Now, with a new mandate from the highest office in the land, ICE is focused on restoring order and public safety—something every law-abiding American deserves.
Gabriel Martinez, acting field office director for ICE ERO Houston, stressed that the agency’s priority is removing “the worst of the worst”—those whose crimes pose a direct threat to American families and communities. Among those arrested in June was Adermis Wilson-Gonzalez, convicted of hijacking an airplane, as well as Arnulfo Olivares Cervantes, a cocaine trafficker and attempted murderer with a history of illegal entry. The operation also netted Luis Pablo Vasquez-Estolano, a convicted murderer and robber, and repeat child sex offenders Jose Meza and Javier Escobar Gonzalez. These are not “dreamers.” These are hardened criminals who, until recently, had every incentive to hide in plain sight, protected by a system more concerned with optics than with protecting the public.
Trump Administration Reverses the Tide—Criminals No Longer Get a Free Pass
The contrast with the prior administration could not be starker. For the past four years, ICE found itself hamstrung by sanctuary policies, politically motivated restrictions on enforcement at schools, hospitals, and churches, and endless bureaucratic interference. That all changed on January 20, 2025. President Trump wasted no time declaring a national emergency at the border and issuing executive orders that supercharged enforcement. Sensitive zones were eliminated, daily arrest quotas were set, and expedited removal was expanded nationwide. Local law enforcement agencies, once pressured to look the other way, now serve as force multipliers, working hand-in-glove with ICE to rid communities of criminal aliens.

Houston, a sanctuary for illegal immigrants under the old regime, has become ground zero for the new approach. March saw 646 arrests; May, another 422. June topped them all at 1,361. ICE’s press releases hammer the message home: the agency is restoring “integrity” to the system and making clear that America is not a safe haven for violent offenders. Deportations have soared, with 142 criminal aliens—including gang members and child predators—removed to Mexico on June 4 alone. The difference is not just policy; it’s a matter of life and death for American families.
The Real Cost: Years of Open Borders, Chaos, and Risk to Citizens
The impact of these changes is already being felt. In the short term, removing violent offenders directly reduces the risk of recidivism and sends a clear message that lawlessness will not be tolerated. In the long term, the renewed focus on enforcement may finally deter the revolving door of illegal entry, especially for those who come not to work, but to prey on the innocent. Still, the damage left by years of open borders and unchecked migration is not easily undone. Families shattered by crime, communities living in fear, and the economic drain of supporting those who break the law—all are the legacy of policies that put political correctness above common sense.
Scumbag leftist dems are raging against this.

Of course, some advocacy groups and local officials—many of whom never met a government program or handout they didn’t like—continue to cry foul, claiming that tough enforcement “erodes trust” and “disrupts communities.” But ask the victims of violent crime if they feel safer when the law is enforced. For every criminal removed, a family sleeps a little better at night. For every gang member deported, a neighborhood regains a measure of peace. That’s the real story—one the mainstream media would rather ignore.
