(America First Report)—Democrats in the House Rules Committee seized on populist support for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, forcing a vote that made Republicans on the committee look foolish on Monday
Congressman Ro Khanna filed an amendment that had all but one Republican on the committee voting against it, reinforcing the narrative that Capitol Hill GOP members support the cover-up. Congressman Ralph Norman was the only Republican who voted in favor of the amendment.
“Mr. Speaker, I introduce today an amendment demanding the full release of the Epstein files,” declared Khanna ahead of the vote on Monday. “The Speaker’s Rules Committee should demand a vote tomorrow of every member of Congress: yes, we should release it; or no, we should not. This is a question of whose side are you on? Are you on the side of protecting the rich and the powerful who put their thumb on the scales of government to suck out millions of dollars while working class Americans suffer? Or are you on the side of the people?”
He continued, “The attorney general said on her desk was the Epstein files and now she’s saying, ‘No, no, no, nothing to see, don’t release it.’ This is a question of trust. We need to release the Epstein files so we can restore government of the people by the people and for people, and every member of Congress tomorrow should be forced to vote on this amendment.”
For over a week, the White House has been embroiled in a public relations nightmare following a declaration by the Department of Justice that despite having over 10,000 videos depicting child sex crimes related to Jeffrey Epstein, nobody would be investigated, charged, arrested, or prosecuted. Moreover, they declared that Epstein killed himself and there is no “client list.”
Khanna and other Democrats have pretended to be in favor of releasing all of the Epstein files being held by the DoJ, though they were conspicuously silent on the issue for years. Now, with President Donald Trump being criticized by some of his most loyal MAGA influencers, Democrats have pounced.

So strange. The ‘God-fearing’ Republicans just blocked the release of the Epstein List that exposes the Child Traffickers. pic.twitter.com/0kIVF01Q5w

Republicans should be supporting it 100%, not to defy the White House but to support the will of the people. Democrats are bluffing because they know the GOP will not go against President Trump. For once, the GOP should have surprised them.
