The official X account belonging to Elmo, the popular children’s character from Sesame Street, fell victim to hackers on Sunday who posted a series of wildly inappropriate messages and slurs before the content was quickly removed.
The hacking incident occurred during Sunday afternoon when multiple posts containing deviant speech appeared on the verified Elmo account.
The messages included language attacking Jewish people and references to conspiracy theories before being deleted by platform moderators or account administrators.
The malicious posts began appearing after the compromised account promoted a cryptocurrency called $ELMO.
This promotional content preceded the wave of hateful messages that would follow.
Among the offensive content posted by the hackers, one message stated “Elmo says ALL JEWS SHOULD DIE” followed by additional antisemitic slurs.
“F*** Jews,” one post continued.
“DONALD TRUMP IS NETANYAHU’S PUPPET BECAUSE HE IS IN THE EPSTEIN FILES.”
“JEWS CONTROL THE WORLD AND NEED TO BE EXTERMINATED.”
The hackers also targeted President Donald Trump in their posts, using profane language to describe him and making unfounded accusations.
They referenced the Jeffrey Epstein case and demanded the release of an “Epstein client list.”
The posts specifically called Trump a “child f*cker.”
The timing of these posts coincides with recent statements from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI regarding Jeffrey Epstein.
Officials released a memo stating that Epstein died by suicide in prison in 2019 and clarified that there was no “incriminating client list” or evidence of blackmail operations against powerful figures.
This official clarification directly contradicts the theories promoted in the hacked Elmo posts.
President Trump addressed the continuing focus on the Epstein case through his Truth Social platform.
He expressed frustration with what he characterized as attacks on his administration and specifically defended Attorney General Pam Bondi’s performance in her role.
In his Truth Social post, Trump wrote: “What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals’? They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening.”
The president continued his defense, stating: “We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein.”
Trump’s statement also criticized what he views as politically motivated investigations.
He questioned the continued attention given to Epstein-related matters and suggested that previous administrations were responsible for creating controversies.
The President wrote: “For years, it’s Epstein, over and over again. Why are we giving publicity to Files written by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration, who conned the World with the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, 51 ‘Intelligence’ Agents, ‘THE LAPTOP FROM HELL,’ and more?”
Trump further alleged that these figures “created the Epstein Files, just like they created the FAKE Hillary Clinton/Christopher Steele Dossier that they used on me, and now my so-called ‘friends’ are playing right into their hands.”
