A viral video of Socialist Muslim Zohran Mamdani’s former intern Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik berating police officers has thrust the City University of New York (CUNY) student and antisemitic activist into the spotlight, sparking widespread controversy and her apparent suspension from the university.
The cringeworthy video of Malik berating police officers has been making the rounds on social media. The video received so much attention that it made the New York Post.
Turn up the volume and watch, if you can bear it:
In the wake of the controversy, CUNY appears to have suspended the antisemitic activist, who took part in a protest against her suspension on July 9, 2025 organized by “CUNY4Palestine”, a group with whom Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik is associated.
Readers should not write off Hadeeqa as an anomaly, and all Americans and freedom-loving people should be paying very close attention to her words and deeds on and off campus.
Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik ‘Inspired’ by Texas Muslims
“If you know me, you know how inspired I am by the Islam-oriented community in the Texan Dallas Fort Worth area,” the New York-based Malik posted on LinkedIn on November 20, 2024, “the community that they foster in their masjids and beyond are sacred houses of worship, educational institutions, as well as blessed third spaces,” she continued.
Texas has been a particular target for subversive, terror-tied Islamic activism. In an article posted at RAIR last month “From Marxism to Islam: The Revolutionary Road to Allah Leads Through Texas”, the red-green axis once again reveals itself as a potent force.
In Dallas, Imam Jihad Abdulmumit, a former Marxist and Black Liberation Army member, openly draws on his revolutionary past to preach how Islam can be wielded to dismantle America from within.

Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik’s admiration for the Muslim community in the Dallas Fort Worth area, as expressed in her November 20, 2024, LinkedIn post, highlights her fascination with their vibrant masjids and community spaces.
Yet, as a New York-based activist, her focus on Texas raises questions about the nature of her inspiration. As RAIR has previously reported, Texas has become a focal point for subversive, terror-tied Islamic activism, exemplified by figures like Imam Jihad Abdulmumit, whose Marxist roots inform his revolutionary preaching.
Malik’s praise for the Texan Muslim community, while seemingly innocuous, cannot be divorced from this troubling context, where the red-green axis continues to exploit the good will of Americans to advance an agenda aimed at undermining Western values from within.
Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik’s Ban: CUNY’s Superficial Fix
But Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik’s suspension is quite performative – offensive, even – as Malik is but a reflection of the radicalization that has been allowed to take place on college campuses, including at CUNY.
For example, Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik moderated a webinar for CUNY4Palestine in an resurfaced video from September 3, 2024.
One of the items found on their linktree is a 15 page document titled “Zionism is White Supremacy! Palestine Solidarity Resources,” which includes a quote from a group called “Jews Against White Supremacy (JAWS)” praising the Hamas terrorists who conducted the October 7th terror attack against Israel:
Al-Aqsa Flood was not only a major blow towards the Zionist state, but its tactics will be studied as an inspiration for anti-colonial movements for generations to come. The meaning of Palestinian liberation fighters breaking through the gates and stepping foot on their land cannot be overstated.
JAWS calls for an end to the genocide of the Palestinian people, an end to the siege on Gaza, and an end to the Zionist settler colonial project. Glory to the martyrs and may their memories be a revolution.
Webinar with CUNY4Palestine: ‘Islamic Political Activism’
In September 2024, Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik, acting in her capacity as president of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at City College, posted on LinkedIn:
“9/3: I wanna share the passion project I’ve been working on through CUNY4Palestine; we had our first episode of a webinar series for a conversation on Islamic Political Activism with Imam Tom Facchine from Yaqeen Institute and Brother Raja Abdulhaq. This is a critical conversation and one that I’ve used as a guiding light in navigating political / activist spaces, strategically and practically with faith at the center of it. I believe it’s a fruitful conversation for all, that adds depth and precision to discourse surrounding justice amidst oppression. Check out our first episode
:”
The video has been marked “Private” on LinkedIn, but fortunately it was archived by “Stu Stu Studio” (transcript here):
In the video, Malik, joined by Raja Abdulhaq, co-founder of Within Our Lifetime; Imam Tom Facchine, Research Director of Islam and Society at Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research and recent speaker at the radical “Prophetic Strategy Summit” held by banned Muslim Brotherhood Leader Tareq Al-Suwaidan; and Fatima Mohammed, former president of Brooklyn College Students for Justice in Palestine and activist with Within Our Lifetime, revealed a radical agenda that vilifies America, glorifies Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, and rejects assimilation into Western society.
America as the Enemy: A Narrative of Hatred
The webinar paints America as a malevolent empire orchestrating global oppression, particularly against Muslims and Palestinians. Raja Abdulhaq explicitly accuses the United States of masterminding so-called international hegemony through its support for Israel, stating, “America, the country that we live in… is actually the ones who are running the show, and they’re the ones actually using Israel for their own interest.”
Abdulhaq further claims that American values are inherently corrupt, asserting:
“Being American means that you’re okay with capitalism, you’re okay with imperialism, you’re okay with the genocide, you’re okay with the war, as we’ve seen today, everybody is cheering Israel to continue its genocide.”
This rhetoric equates patriotism with complicity in war crimes, aiming to alienate Muslims from the nation and sow division within American society.
Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik amplifies this narrative, accusing American media of celebrating violence against Palestinians. She declares, “After 318 days of a genocide with over 186,000 Palestinians martyred by the Zionist entity in cold blood, in broad daylight, being cheered on by mainstream media.” Her words frame America as an active cheerleader for what she calls a genocide.

Glorifying Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood
The speakers openly and enthusiastically endorse Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. Malik praises Hamas as a reflection of Palestinian resilience, stating, “The fighters of Gaza are leading with Islam at their core and center.” This explicit support for Hamas, a group responsible for violent attacks against civilians, reveals an intent to normalize and legitimize its actions within activist circles.
By framing Hamas as a heroic resistance movement, Malik seeks to radicalize her audience, particularly young Muslim students at CUNY, into viewing terrorism as a justified response to perceived oppression.
Within Our Lifetime co-founder Raja Abdulhaq defends Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood as integral to the Palestinian cause, asserting,
“Hamas and others are part of the social fabric of Palestine. You don’t have to agree with them… but when you demonize the largest resistance movement, you’re demonizing the Palestinian resistance in essence.”
He further lauds the Muslim Brotherhood, saying, “The Muslim Brotherhood strengthens our cause against colonial erasure with their unyielding Islamic resistance.” These statements elevate groups with histories of violence and anti-Western ideologies, presenting them as noble defenders of a sacred cause.
Imam Tom Facchine of the Irving, Texas-based Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research links Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood to the broader Muslim identity, warning:
“The average Muslim in the West, there’s less of a distance between you and Hamas than there is between Hamas and ISIS.”
This statement pressures Muslim Americans to align with radical ideologies or risk being labeled as traitors to their faith. Facchine also praises Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, saying:
“Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood represent the unyielding spirit of the ummah, standing firm against the Zionist and American attempts to erase our faith.”
This rhetoric frames resistance to America as a religious duty, undermining national security by glorifying groups hostile to the U.S.
Fatima Mohammed glorifies Hamas as a beacon of jihad, stating, “Hamas carries the torch of jihad for Palestine, showing us what it means to fight for Allah’s cause.” Her endorsement of jihad, coupled with her praise for the Muslim Brotherhood – “The Muslim Brotherhood inspires us to hold fast to our deen in the face of American oppression” signals a rejection of American legal and cultural norms in favor of a militant Islamic framework.
Targeting Pro-Israel Professor Shai Davidai
In the wake of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, Professor Shai Davidai became an outspoken defender of Jewish students, who were being targeted at Columbia University. This, of course, made Davidai a target himself and even the subject of a university investigation, which was closed on July 9, 2025.
During the discussion, Imam Tom Facchine issued a bold call to target Shai Davidai. “If there’s one professor like that Shai Davidai guy, how do we get him in trouble, right? What are the ways in which his professorship is sort of tenuous or maybe in jeopardy?” Facchine declared, urging supporters to make an example of Davidai to “silence a hundred other professors.”
Faccine’s statement (clipped for convenience; timestamp 2:05:12 to 2:05:44):
If there’s one professor like that Shai Davidai guy, how do we get him in trouble, right? What are the ways in which his professorship is sort of tenuous or maybe in jeopardy, or at what point will it be in jeopardy? How to create a situation in which he’s in jeopardy, right? Like, that might, in a particular situation, that might have more impact and might silence—this is what the Zionists do—that might silence a hundred other professors. If you’re able to take out somebody like that and make an example, that might shut up ten, hundred more, right?
Shai Davidai resigned from Columbia University on the same day the investigation was closed against him. “I’ve lost all trust in the institution and respect for my colleagues,” Davidai told reporters.
Watch this impassioned speech by Shai Davidai titled “An Open Letter to Every Parent in America” dated October 18, 2023:
Subversive Strategies: Rejecting Assimilation, Building Power
The speakers advocate for a deliberate strategy to undermine American institutions by rejecting assimilation and building independent Muslim power bases.
As an aside, the idea of rejecting “integration” has been preached by influential cleric Tareq Al-Suwaidan, who enjoys a massive following on X of 9.6 million followers as of the time of this writing.
Al-Suwaidan mentors Western Muslim youth for ideological training abroad, and pushes a vision of global Islamic supremacy through media, education, and political activism, aiming to transform Western societies from within, as revealed by RAIR founder Amy Mek, who has profiled Tareq Al-Suwaidan and his relationship with Texas Imam Yasir Qadhi in an explosive exposé on July 9, 2025.

Raja Abdulhaq argues that all Muslims must resist integration, claiming, “In order for Muslims to be accepted as immigrants who came from Asia or Africa or the Middle East… they have to get rid of their uniqueness, they have to get rid of their value systems and accept the native value system.”
He portrays American values as “exploitative,” “capitalist,” and “imperialist,” urging Muslims to reject them outright. This call fosters a parallel society that opposes American governance and ideals, threatening national unity.
Malik and her co-panelists propose practical steps to advance this agenda. Abdulhaq suggests starting organizing meetings with Islamic rituals, stating:
“One concrete step you can take tomorrow is to start every organizing meeting or event with a reminder of why we’re here as Muslims. Open with a du’a, recite an ayah from the Quran… This sets the tone and signals to everyone-Muslims and non-Muslims alike-that Islam is non-negotiable in this space.”
This tactic aims to dominate coalition spaces, sidelining secular or non-Muslim allies and creating environments where Islamic ideology prevails.
Facchine emphasizes building knowledge to resist secular pressures, proposing:
“Host a study circle in your SJP chapter or community group where you read hadiths about Al-Quds… Knowledge is power, and when you’re armed with the Islamic framework, you’re less likely to be swayed by secular pressures.”
This strategy seeks to indoctrinate activists with a narrative prioritizing religious texts over American legal or ethical frameworks, fostering resistance to integration.
Fatima Mohammed focuses on visible defiance, urging students to “wear your hijab, grow your beard, speak about Palestine as a Muslim issue with no apologies.”
The webinar targets American educational institutions, particularly CUNY, as battlegrounds for this subversive agenda. Fatima Mohammed labels Brooklyn College as “one of the most Islamophobic institutions in New York City,” accusing it of silencing Muslim activism. This claim delegitimizes academic institutions, portraying them as hostile to Muslims and justifying radical organizing on campuses.
A Call to Confront the Threat
The rhetoric of Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik, Raja Abdulhaq, Imam Tom Facchine, and Fatima Mohammed reveals a calculated effort to subvert American society by promoting an Islamic framework that glorifies Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, rejects assimilation, and vilifies American institutions. By leveraging campuses and community spaces, they seek to radicalize young Muslims and undermine the values that define America.
This agenda demands a resolute response from American institutions, communities, and individuals committed to preserving national unity and security. The words of these activists, unchecked, pose a clear and present danger to the principles that hold the nation together.
