A petty dispute over just $15 turned fatal inside a Minneapolis apartment, leaving one man dead and his roommate facing murder charges.
According to police, 21-year-old Sincir Malik Porter is accused of stabbing his 25-year-old roommate, Abdirahman Adan Abdirahman, during a heated argument at their home on Hiawatha Avenue. Porter has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and is currently being held at Hennepin County Jail on a $1 million bond, jail records show.
Officers responding to the scene on Sunday were met with a blood-soaked apartment. A bloody knife was recovered near the front entrance, and the living room was described as having “a large amount of blood on the floor and walls,” according to a probable cause statement.
Abdirahman had been stabbed in the neck. He was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
The deadly altercation was reportedly captured on the home’s surveillance system. The footage showed the two roommates arguing over $15. Porter was seen holding a knife, then switching hands before stabbing Abdirahman once in the neck. The victim appeared to take a defensive stance before collapsing, police said.
A witness at the scene told officers that Porter admitted to losing control, allegedly saying Abdirahman “made [him] flash out.” After fleeing, Porter was later located nearby. Upon being arrested, he reportedly told officers, “Yeah, you got me.”
Even more disturbing, Porter allegedly admitted he had previously thought about killing Abdirahman and his other roommates, telling investigators that they were “lucky they didn’t get in the way.”
What started as a minor disagreement turned into a brutal, senseless act of violence — one that has shocked the community.
