Kamala Harris is even dumber than we thought — she actually believed a green soft drink would appeal to middle America.
According to the New York Post, Harris narrowed her three VP finalists based on their choice of soft drink. Walz chose Mountain Dew, and she had a “gut feeling” that this would resonate with more people than any other factor.
LOL. Respectively, what?!
“2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America,” released Tuesday by journalists Josh Dawsey of the Wall Street Journal, Tyler Pager of the New York Times and Isaac Arnsdor of the Washington Post, described a vetting process that came down to three finalists: Walz, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly.
All three candidates did a final interview with Harris at her residence, the book explains, adding that when asked what they wanted to drink, Shapiro and Kelly chose water while Walz chose Diet Mountain Dew.
I would have chosen Diet Coke. Which geographic voter would that appeal to? Maybe Los Angeles?
Appeal with rural voters was a top priority for the Harris ticket and the book states that Harris’ advisers felt that Walz was the best candidate to do that.
“Pelosi privately pushed for him too, because she’d worked with him in Congress,” the book said about the former House speaker. “The pitch for Walz was straightforward: He could appeal to white voters across the Blue Wall states (Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania) and hopefully help Harris with male voters. He’d never lost election.”
If Diet Mountain Dew is supposed to appeal to white rural voters, why doesn’t it actually resonate with them?
This is hardly surprising, considering much of their campaign was oddly focused on sharing their favorite snacks in an attempt to connect with the American people.
That shows just how little they thought of voters and explains why they failed to win over the rural vote.
People couldn’t care less about this nonsense, yet it was the deciding factor in choosing her running mate. You really can’t make up for that level of foolishness.
They genuinely believed that trivial things like this would resonate more with Americans than her positions on inflation and border security. That shows how little they thought of voters, and the fact that they believed this would secure her a spot on the ballot box is scandalous in itself.
Nonetheless, a word of advice to the next leftist candidate: favorite beverages aren’t much of a concern to the American people.
