New York City’s heir apparent mayoral candidate, Muslim Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani, has a past riddled with communist moves and proclamations, as well as Jew-hatred, that is surfacing despite his best efforts to quell it.
Zohran’s father was a raging antisemite
His father is a radical antisemite as well. No shock there. Mahmood Mamdani, who is a professor at Columbia University and a millionaire to boot, asserted on a panel at the Jaipur Literature Festival in New York in 2022 that Hitler was inspired by Abraham Lincoln, according to the Daily Wire. Yes, the iconic president who freed the slaves caused the Holocaust. He also claimed that “the Nazi political project was shared by the allies.”
The discussion involved the release of Mahmood’s book, “Neither Settler nor Native: The Making and Unmaking of Permanent Minorities.” The book “explores the nature of the nation-state, and the path to a reimagined, decolonized future.”
Zohran’s father charged that “America is the genesis of what we call settler-colonialism” around the world. That was when he made the outrageous claim that Adolf Hitler got the idea of the Holocaust from President Abraham Lincoln:
“With the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln generalized the solution of reservations, they herded American Indians into separate territories. For the Nazis, this was the inspiration — Hitler realized two things: one, that genocide is doable. It is possible to do genocide, that’s what Hitler realized. Second thing Hitler realized is that you don’t have to have a common citizenship.”
He went on to state that the Nuremberg Laws, which were Nazi Germany’s racist and antisemitic form of lawfare, were “patterned after American laws.” Mahmood went so far as to declare that “The Nazi political project was shared by the Allies, and that political project was to turn Germany into a ‘pure’ nation.”

“When the Allies defeated the Nazis and went into Eastern Europe, they began to create ‘pure’ nations. To ethnically cleanse Eastern Europe of Germans — move them back into Germany. One crime doesn’t wipe out another,” he brazenly claimed.
He also argued that “The nation state is what prevents us from living together.” This is because “The majority precedes democracy.” His point being “The tension between citizen and subject, or majority and minority, is an inherent consequence of colonialism:”
“I argue that nationalism and colonialism are not two different things. We normally think of two kinds of nationalism, good nationalism and bad nationalism. Good nationalism brought us together, and bad nationalism targeted other minorities. The important thing to realize is that these two things happen at the same time; they are two sides of the same coin.”
His warped logic went on to contend that to eliminate oppression, we must dismantle “colonialist architecture,” urging that “the tribes must take charge, and the tribes must be sovereign.”

Sound familiar? It should – it’s one of the favorite arguments of the American Left.
New York mayoral candidate’s apple falls directly under his parental tree
Mahmood Mamdani would go on to tell the New York Times that Zohran is “his own person.” “Now, of course, what we do as his parents is part of the environment in which he grew up, and he couldn’t help but engage with it. That doesn’t mean anything is reflected back on us.”
Zohran’s mother, director Amrit Nair, who is also a millionaire in her own right, disagreed with her husband on that point: “Of course, the world we live in, and what we write and film and think about, is the world that Zohran has very much absorbed.”
He’s a hardcore Muslim communist
Despite Zohran claiming he is not a communist, his upbringing says otherwise. It defines him not only as a communist but an antisemite, which he has proven over and over again while denying that he is one.
His radicalism covers a swath of communist initiatives, including freezing rent on a million apartments, raising the minimum wage to $30 an hour by 2030, making childcare and the bus system free, replacing the police with teams of mental health professionals, and implementing city-run grocery stores. He has also previously said he wants to seize the means of production, which is an outright echo of Karl Marx.
“At one point, Mamdani went so far as to state that ‘seizing the means of production’ was the ‘end goal,’ evoking Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin, both of whom famously spoke of socialism being merely a transitional phase to be used in achieving the true end goal of communism,” the Jewish News Syndicate reported.

During the pandemic, he called for the seizure of luxury homes to hand over to the homeless.
In March of 2020, he wrote on X, “The oligarchs who want us to return to work to goose the stock market are the same ones with thousands of luxury condos as investment properties, sitting empty while NYers die on the streets & in shelters. Seize these properties. House the homeless. Enact a #HomesGuarantee.”

There is also a telling video from 2021 from the left-leaning Gravel Institute where he calls for taking private housing and making it public by buying large tracts of homes and transforming them into communist communes. That sounds a lot like BlackRock.
“If we want to end the housing crisis, the solution has to be moving toward the full de-commodification of housing,” Mamdani said. “In other words, moving away from the status quo in which most people access housing by purchasing it on the market and toward a future where we guarantee high-quality housing to all as a human right.”

And the hits just keep on coming for the Democratic Socialist. Add to the list his being a Muslim commie AND a conspiratorial whack job.
Hearting Islamic terrorists
The mayoral frontrunner co-founded a college club that invited a rabid, radical antisemitic speaker who called Israel a bigger terror threat than Hamas. Professor As’ad AbuKhalil even bragged that he was “honored to have known” George Habash, who is the leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. That is designated as a terrorist organization. Habash was nicknamed the “godfather of Middle Eastern terrorism,” according to the New York Post. “He was a great Palestinian leader,” spouted AbuKhalil in 2012.
He also claimed that the US brought 9/11 on itself and then accused the US government of inflicting “many 9/11s” on the world.

Mamdani helped launch Justice in Palestine at Bowdoin College in 2013. AbuKhalil was invited to speak about “trends in the Middle East in the age of uprising,” while Mamdani was still a student there.

Abukhalil asserted in 2021, “We have to remember that the US basically was hit on 9/11 by forces that were reactionary and fanatic and were raised and armed and sponsored by America and its allies in the Middle East.”
“People forget that 9/11 is a repercussion of the Cold War when the US made its bed, and clearly with the religious fanatics of the Muslim world,” he remarked. “This is a time where socialists around the world in Chile, in the Arab world, and everywhere were under attack by the US. Reactionary forces in support.”

He went on to say that it was “heart-wrenching remembering all these people who came from 80 nationalities, the ones who died on 9/11 here in the United States.” But he also contended that “there were many earlier 9/11s that the US inflicted on people around the world.”
In 2006, AbuKhalil also claimed that Israel committed more terrorism than Hamas and blasted Americans for not admitting it.
“And if Hamas has practiced versions of indiscriminate and aimless violence—which I personally reject on principle–, it should be pointed out that Israeli terrorism—in scale and in magnitude–by far exceeds that of Hamas, but nobody has noticed here in the US. Fatah is facing a dilemma, and it does not know how to respond,” he raged in a blog post.

More from the New York Post on Mamdani’s love of terrorists and his false claims:
In resurfaced tweets Mamdani appeared to defend al Qaeda fiend Anwar al-Awalaki, who was later killed in a drone strike approved by then-President Barack Obama.
It was also revealed last week that Mamdani, who was born in Uganda, claimed he was “African American” along with “Asian” in a college application to Columbia University that was ultimately rejected.
More and more is surfacing about Zohran Mamdani, and none of it is good. All of it is radical communist leftism with a hateful Islamic twist.
