A 17-year-old girl in Georgia has been arrested and charged with the brutal murders of her mother and stepfather, months after their bodies were found shot to death in their bedroom.
On Tuesday, July 8, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Sarah Grace Patrick voluntarily turned herself in. She’s now facing two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault in connection to the February 20, 2025 killings of her mother, 41-year-old Kristin Brock, and her stepfather, 45-year-old James Brock.
Authorities say both victims died from apparent gunshot wounds. Their bodies were discovered at their home on Tyus Road, after a 911 call was placed by Patrick—the same teen now accused of pulling the trigger. According to police, it was Patrick’s 6-year-old sister who first stumbled upon the horrific scene.
“This is a very horrific and sad case,” Carroll County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Ashley Hulsey said during a press conference live-streamed on Facebook. “We don’t know what goes through the mind of a child who wants to harm her parents.”
Investigators described the probe as intense and far-reaching, involving “mountains of physical and digital evidence” and “countless interviews.” While Patrick has been charged as an adult, officials say they are still working to uncover a motive—and aren’t ruling out the possibility that others may have been involved.
Hulsey noted that Patrick’s father accompanied her when she surrendered, and that other family members have been fully cooperative. Still, she called the couple’s 6-year-old daughter “the saddest victim” in the case.
“A mother and stepfather will never be able to raise their children,” Hulsey said. “Our prayers remain with the families of James and Kristin Brock, and especially with their young daughter who was at home during this horrific crime.”
Patrick is currently being held without bond.
